Few interesting changes...
No Queensland Raceway round listed. Only Queensland round currently there is Indy.

Can't see anything other than Qld Raceway being the TBA. I'm also very glad to see Oran Park as the season finale, as opposed to Eastern Creek.

It's the season finale because it's also Oran Park's swansong. Quite sad, but at least it will go out with a bang. Should be interesting to see what they have planned for the four days.

I would say more than likley, QR might not be on the calender.

PI, 500 km race and 2 drivers = lots of big hits!

This has the potential to be built into a 'Classic' race.

Don't like the Philip Island 500. Bring back the Sandown 500!

As much as I will miss Sandown, PI is a far better racetrack and I think the racing will be fantastic, the pits will be a scary place though with driver changes.

Perhaps he should look at the opinion polls as I think he's talking to the wrong side at the moment :p

And don't for a minute think that VESA gave Qld Raceway the flick, I am sure you will find it was the other way around, Tetly has been threatening it for years.

Oh, rang my usual accomodation for the Winton round to make sure they booked me in automatically for the weekend and word has it that beds are filling fast in and around Benalla so for those of you looking to go next year you'd better start making phone calls now.

The good thing is that Trev isn't home that weekend after all the only good things to ever come out of Shep is the Midland & Goulburn Valley Highways :p

Good to see that in the provisional calendars released so far Sandown and Bathurst have no clashes with the BTCC, DTM, WTCC, and ALMS, so the potential for international co-drivers is higher next year.

Andy Priaulx, Alain Menu, Yvan Muller, David Brabham, and Ryan Briscoe (if he stays with the ALMS) would all be available to have another shot at the enduros.

I remember a comment made by someone attached to the event last year when a promoter was arguing the point on some ridiculous issue that the V8 people wanted done the evening before the event was due to start, the comment went. "They (VESA) might own the jets, but they have forgotten who owns the aircraft carrier" :rofl:

TC might want to remember that he might be able to bluff State and Federal Government politicians, but he is really struggling to pull the wool over the eyes of the permanent track owners.

Why do you think VESA is the promoter at Phillip Island and not the Fox's. Lindsay told them to bugger off back in late 2003, hence no race on the Island in 2004. The only way they get to use the Island is for them (VESA) to hire the place and run it themselves.

Camping at the Island will be a nice addition, the wind and cold will make for some interesting times.

Bit like Winton, but without the wind - LOL

AA is claiming this week that the development series may also appear at the AGP meeting....

Should be great for the development series teams to showcase themselves in front of a mega audience... but... it should really be a championship round :Shrug:

As much as some (like eNews previously) talk it up, full-on enduro's of any sort will never happen on the Grand Prix weekend.

The V8 Supercar site states that
Queensland Raceway returns to the V8 Supercar Supercar Championship Series again in July 18-20 in 2008 with a one year deal after successful negotiations were recently concluded.

That is good new for the Brisbanians

Well the report in AA clearly stated that the development series was headed to the AGP.... yet, unsurprisingly, several high profile development series teams know nothing about it :Shrug:

Interesting little snippet on BigPond's Access All Areas during Indy. Had Crompo interviewing TC at his fancy pants office in V8 la-la-land in Surfers. TC went to great pains to point out that he had a staff of 50 and there were plenty of "young" people in the "organisation" but that his main role was dealing with circuit promoters and sponsors.

Seems to me that when it comes to these calendar delays and stuff-ups, that's where the buck stops. With TC himself.

Well that is interesting, because I know for a fact that a certain racetrack deals with people other than TC every year for round negotiations - interesting.

Wouldn't TC only work with circuits that he could make the most money out of ie. Street Circuits.
