4 Races to go
Entrylist (http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2007/33/data/entry_list.html)
Jeff Gordon made his Cup debut at Atlanta fifteen years ago. I like the photo on this (http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/10/25/cup.preview.atlanta.2/index.html) page. A real Nigel Mansell mustache.
He looks like Cole Trickle in that photo!
It's all getting rather serious now, isn't it? Can't wait!
Knowlesy 26 Oct 2007, 18:49 Atlanta, love this track! :rotate:
ThePenguin 27 Oct 2007, 03:48 Sam Hornish Jr. failed to qualify again, this may really change his mind about coming to NASCAR if he can't qualify for the races.
But the thing is he has been faster than a lot of guys each time but because of the top 35 owners points rule? he doesn't qualify? what's the point of him turning up if he can't get in anyway even if he makes the field pace wise?
Knowlesy 27 Oct 2007, 16:25 To be honest he has shown zilch promise in the Busch races he did anyways so the Cup grid does not miss his presence.

Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 18:25 Pre-race underway. Daylight savings timeshift caught me out there.
Me too. Well done Knowlesy, tuned in now.
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 18:47 Nice Halloween headstone there, with the inscription "CoT may you rest in peace".

Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 18:55 What a terrific pre-race show this has been, some serious reminiscing going on.
Oh no!
Mr TheKing lost his hat! :o
On board at Atlanta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7n10jwmFh8) (with Antill :))
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:29 Dale Jarrett going backwards like he's in reverse.
Nice onboard Craig....you'd probably outqualify Sam Hornish Jr. at that speed! ;)
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:31 Stewart and Montoya marching to the top ten now.
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:34 Biffle running a second a lap slow with an ailing engine.
Commentary: "He's still running fairly fast." :s
Back on the pace that lap.
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:36 Oh arse! Blowout for JPM?
Could do without finishing 43rd at this moment in time. :(
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:39 At least it blew on the straight I suppose.
Besides puncture more damage?
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:42 Besides puncture more damage?
Right front is a mess. But maybe it could be ironed out with some good duct taping. ;)
Blaney out.
Redracer77 28 Oct 2007, 19:46 I bought Setanta for the Live Nascar coverage and it again seems to not have it........where else can I watch the race????
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:47 It's on channel 434.
VilleneuveTracy 28 Oct 2007, 19:48 Damn! JPM had a great run going. Is he 1 lap down or 2 laps down now? If he is 1 lap down maybe he can get the lucky dog.
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:49 2 laps right now. Horribly slow.
Redracer77 28 Oct 2007, 19:54 It's on channel 434.
Cheers Not sure how I missed that....
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 19:55 Right front blown again!
VilleneuveTracy 28 Oct 2007, 19:55 Why does 90% of his bad luck happen when he is running well? :(
Damn, JPM has another cut tire!
Bad luck or is it because body damage cut the tire?
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 20:01 Bad luck or is it because body damage cut the tire?
The second one certainly was.
The second one certainly was.
The duck tape didn't work? ;)
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 20:03 They appeared not to use any. The bodywork was just torn off. They've lost pretty much all the right front. Next blowout and the entire front-end is gone!
Hard shunt for Martin and Gilliland. Ouch.
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 20:22 Jr. is looking good right now. :)
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 23:20 Well, ended in tears for Jr on the green/white chequer as his wheel fell off. :s
Johnson wins and closes right up on Gordon in the points. It's gonna be tense, hold on Jeff!
Speedworx 28 Oct 2007, 23:30 That was an exciting finish.
Hamlin running out of gas on the restart and getting hit by Truex. Dale Jr losing his wheel.
Knowlesy 28 Oct 2007, 23:31 RotY standings haven't altered much with JPM getting back out to pick up 34th immediately behind Ragan who dropped to 33rd. Wretched day for both.
A shame Hamlin ran outta fuel right where he did as he dramatically changed the race again. So the points lead gets even lower! That was a weird and hard crash for Dale and a shame as I wanted him to him and Truex or Kenseth to win...
Knowlesy 29 Oct 2007, 19:03 I found it great when Hamlin slowed down. One less whinger in contention. ;)
muggle not 30 Oct 2007, 02:01 I was M.I.A. over the weekend and did not get to see the race. I listened to a few clips on the radio when possible. I would feel a little better if Bowyer was further back in the points. I is going to be a real contest between Johnson and Gordon in the last 3 races. Hope that Jeff comes on strong, at least stronger than Johnson.
another prediction....I look for Jr to be contending for the championship next year.
It feels incredibly strange saying this... but I'll be cheering for Gordon now it's down to a two horse race :o
muggle not 30 Oct 2007, 16:25 It feels incredibly strange saying this... but I'll be cheering for Gordon now it's down to a two horse race :o
came out of the closet, eh. :)
Knowlesy 30 Oct 2007, 19:45 If Johnson wins I'll be applying for sick leave for clinical depression.
I don't really want either to win, but Gordon has been better over the season so it would be fairer if he was winner.....I'd still rather Bowyer took it out though ;)
Big shame for Truex running into the back of Hamlin, he was looking really good.
