Here's how they lineup for this evenings/todays race:

http://www.nascar.com/races/bg/2007/32/data/lineup.html

Mr Ambrose on pole, Dario third. It should be quite an open race this one with a lot of people capable of the win and no Cup regulars around to spoil the party.

Shame we don't get this one live! It'd be good to follow how Dario is getting on.

Well it runs on my crappy connection, so surely yours ain't worse?

Sadly so. If I try to pull too much data down the line the broadband craps out. I'll give it another try tho :)

So far Franchitti doing a great job.

Knowlesy
27 Oct 2007, 22:51
He has been absolutely tremendous. The run he had in the cup car round here looks to have come in really handy. :)

Still some folk to get to the front of course. Just a case of surviving for now whilst the incompetents throw themselves off the track every five laps under green. ;)

I really do hate Memphis. It was bloody awful last year and it is even worse this year!

Watching this race is like pulling teeth. Great job by Dario so far though.

Knowlesy
27 Oct 2007, 23:01
Did I hear that right? 12 cautions in the first 100 laps! :wibble:

To put it into perspective, there were 14 in the whole of last years race!

Its more like every two laps.;)

50% of this race has been run under caution - it's just comical now. Hopefully Dario can keep his nose clean - he's been doing brilliantly so far.

I go for something to eat for half an hour, come back....and we're under caution! ;)

Laugh Out Loud.

Very costly restart for Franchitti, he's now 14th.

Caution 16! :wibble:

I had a feeling Reutimann would win this one....looks like I may for once be right.

Franchitti won't get past 32nd, sad result for such a strong day.

Knowlesy

Never seen a worse race in my life, but it's finally over. Well done David Reutimann and another win for Toyota in the Busch Series.

Down F0rce

Reutimann kept it clean, he deserves this one. Great shame for Dario, but it's all experience I guess.

J-C
28 Oct 2007, 01:04
Finally over! P4 for Marcos, seasons best - nailed Leffler on the last turn and just edged him on the line by 0.001s according to the timing. Shame for Dario but before his brake woes he was looking pretty comfortable out there. At this point the experience is what counts and he looked pretty quick as well so bodes well for next year.

Bah, how could you guys not enjoy that race. I thought it was great, totally unpredictable! I was hoping for two more yellows though, to break the record.

The commentary was quite entertaining, particularly the slip when doing the sponsors announcements; "Crown Royal - it's not about quality!"

I'm not sure, I think it was something to do with the amount of yellow flag running. ;)

The racing we had was decent, however we had about five green laps over the best part of four hours. Not at all entertaining.

Memphis always has so many yellows but doesn't every NASCAR race have so many cautions these past few seasons? I mean when there's so many its hard to actually have a RACE. :(

Wel there are plenty but no more than an old CART race (back when they actually had big long oval races). The races are long and chock full of cars don't forget.

There are no more cautions than one would expect usually. But Memphis was ridiculous, they were one caution from breaking the record I think!

I thought it was a terrible race. So many cautions that they couldn't do much real racing. There were also many drivers that didsn't seem to know what to do on the track and caused far too many wrecks.
