As we already know, Casey Stoner is the 2007 Moto GP World Champion. Along the way he took 10 wins, 14 podiums, 367 points, the BMW M award, and the award for most poles. He also led Ducati to the team and manufacturer titles. Pretty dominant stuff. Congratulations!

**waits for the old it was all the bike routine***

Blah! anyone who thinks that has no respect for Casey whatsoever!

I would safely say that I never expected this to happen so soon in his career - beyond my wilest dream.

This is no fluke im am positive of - Casey will win a few yet!

Edit: The pics of Casey ahead of Val and the other where he is ahead of Hayden are very poignent (sp?)

Stoner also scored 20 points more than the rest of the Ducati riders combined.

he also finished every race upright and in the points with a lowest resault of 6th (from memory), great season especially after last years horror, the bike was great but Casey was awesome where was Loris? that proves it wasn't just the bike.

It will be a great challenge for him in 2008 - character building I would suggest because every man and his dog will be trying to knock him off his perch!

Gotta be honest here and say he did have a slight advantage here, that was clear for most of the year. But towards the endd he did take on allcomers whatever the situation.

Thing I dont like is the throwing teddy stuff I keep hearing from many people.
I dont think he is terribly respected amongst those in the know for these kind of antics, and I know Toby was talking on telly about this on Sunday about some of teh team getting fed up with the spoilt brat stuff.

Think in the future he might need a Burgess figure to reign him in a bit, coz if the 08 bike starts getting beat he wont be able to get away with being a brat!

Well, if some pensioner :old: who normally rides a Harley can get within 5 seconds of the track record it must be all about the bike mustn't it???

Seriously, those bloody electronics have made the bikes easier to ride, I'm sure of it. I also think that the gap between Casey and Loris wouldn't have been so big if they had ridden a real bike!

I heard Tobe yakking away about Stoner having a few tantrums over the year thats all.

I think its really just someone with tons of talent and being used to getting his own way a bit

A lot of riders have done this in the past and guys like Lorenzo are prone to doing that.

I just think that Ducati are being very accomodating and someone like JB wouldnt let him get away with it!!

So is it many people or just Toby? :)

I haven't heard Toby's comments, but I have not seen or read anything to suggest there has been any problems with Stoner's behavior.

It was mentioned in the commentary the other night that #27 was given to Stoner by Alberto Puig back in his Spanish Cup days. They said that Puig gave four riders their number -
24 - Elias
25 - ????
26 - Pedrosa
27 - Stoner

Does anyone know who #25 was?

I believe it was Joan Olive. I think that is what was said on telly the other day.
