Autosport just got smaller

Has else anyone noticed that Autosport just got smaller?

Up until the end of October the magazine was (approx) 300mm x 230m and this week it is 295mm x 220mm, about 4000sq/mm less per page! I also thought that the font size has shrunk ever so slightly but may be wrong on this score as my eyes are not what they were and it is difficult to measure that with a rule

Not making an issue of this, just interested, if Andrew still reads this forum perhaps he would like to comment?

Still bigger than when Gregor Grant was Editor though!

Eco friendly Autosport?

I'm sure it's nothing to do with the cost of paper... :)

Well spotted!

As of November 1 we started using new paper stock. The font sizes have remained the same, so I think that's just a trick of the light.

We've had to redesign all the templates and for the most part word counts have remained the same, so there shouldn't be any drop in content quality.

Actually, we've reverted to the size we were circa 2003. I wasn't sure why we went up then, but the rising price of paper is the reason we've gone down now.

When I used to subscribe I used to keep all copies of Autosport. I have all of them - bar two or three - since 1974. It was annoying when the size increased as I wasn't able to store them in the same way as before. So, for those who do keep them all, well done.

Amazing what you discover on this forum.. I had not yet put the current issue on the pile so had not noticed the diference until I just checked.

Thanks Andrew, you did say (in the earlier thread) that you would have a look at the templates in GT at the end of the season to even out the coverage given to the two GT classes, has this been possible please?
