I used to get bruises on my hips all the time it turned out to be where all the seams on my kartsuit joined at the side getting hammered into my hip when cornering,my ribs used to get the same treatment from the top edge of the seat.
My knees used to be abosolute agony by the end of day in the 250 national from banging against the steering column and elbows from the engine.
Make sure you are a good fit in the seat and pad yourself up where you can.

Hello All! This is my first post in this forum, although i have enjoyed reading some of the previous posts. Upon seeing this post however I just had to comment. Having raced Karts for the last three years I have encountered a number of bruises. A couple of accidents (one roll over) which left rather ugly marks on my legs. But the most painful would have to be when I bruised my ribs. One early morning on a wet/dry track, I went lapping for about three hours, (very long stints) and the next day, much to my dismay, I discovered I couldn't lay down on my right side. So to make a long story short, I am now the proud owner of a rib protector. So while karting is fun, like sex always use protection :)

I don't have a problem. We put a new seat into our seond hand kart when we bought it. We made sure that we fit snugly into it so that we don't move around, esparcially on the fast downhill sweeper at Orielton.
I have seen a lot of peole add fosm peices to their seats to get the perfect fit. We run in a heavy class so I suppose we have plenty of natural padding.

well i got to give my kart a run yesterday at bendigo and boy did i feel it today. Bendigo is tight narrow and bumpy and have bruises on my legs and my arms are so sore. i had a couple of offs but overall not a bad day.
ohhh bruises.
when I first started I got bruises all over..especially around my rib cage at the back ..this came from not fitting into the seat correctly.
I added foam to the back off the seat and to the sidesheld in with tape and my seat cover ..and the problem was solved ..no more bruises there..
I also get vey sore arms ..but some weight training strengthened up my arms and as I gained more experience I learned not to hold on as tight .
Bruises and pain - fantastic.
I used to get bruises on my hips quite often. I also broke some ribs and hurt my shoulder in a big accident. It's so much fun though.
