John Cordts autobiography

Mods, feel free to move this if in an inappropiate spot, but felt this was one of the best audiences for this.

Some of you may have heard of a Canadian Can-Am/Trans-Am driver named John Cordts, whom participated in many different Can-Am and Trans-Am races in the 60s and 70s. He was inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame in the 1990s.

He has recently published his autobiography and available for sale through me. This is NOT a thick, fancy hardcovered book that you can read for hours on end, but rather a small book he's published himself and gives a candid detail of his adventures in racing and new life of woodcarving.

Only CDN$15 plus shipping (from Canada). Send me a PM for details......

Signed copies can be available, but will take some time so he can sign and send back to me and will likely cost a little more (I can ask him).

Thanks!

Regarding above, the cost is actually CDN$20, however every book has been signed by John Cordts himself.

Mods, can you merge both posts? I couldn't firgure out how to edit the first one.

And of course he is a bona fide Grand Prix driver...

He is one of the names of drivers with great talent, noted by the rag writers of the day, that was written about with the qualifier of "deserves a better ride".

Amen, Bob. My father always reminds me a Road & Track editor once said "if I had a Can-Am car, I'd want Johnny Cordts to drive it".

Never had the pleasure of meeting him but am thankful for the many telephone conversations with him due to his friendship with my father.

Book sales have been surprisingly good so far.

Rookie,

I bought the book but now I need to contact John. Any ideas? I am trying to get a couple photos of his 1965 #104 Corvette for a web site application.

Unfortunately John can't make the VARAC festival this weekend at Mosport, but we will have some signed copies available for purchase at the VARAC booth in the paddock. Still only US/CDN$20; a great read.

I bought and read John's book. A quick read but tells what it was like trying to be a pro in the 60's and 70's in Canada. Some of his stories are priceless. I raced in some of the same races as John and he was one of the very few I figured faster than I was. (Ego, much?) Did any one know the nose of an Elva Mk6 would go under the gas tank of a 65 Vette without touching anything? My Elva, John's Gorries Vette, turn 9 Mosport. He had just lapped me.:D
