Old moan, new thread!!
As I sat in my armchair watching the Mil Milhas I pondered (in the boring bits!) about the comparison between what I was watching and what it would have been like had Speed TV been doing it. The class strucure of sports GT racing makes for difficult TV direction and to get a complete picture the live timing is essential and Speed have a go at getting info from the race timing onto the screen.
Surely it is not beyond the wit of the European TV companies to get up to the Speed quality of coverage, they will say it is down to costs I suppose but better cover = more viewers and so better advertising revenue. I know the series organisers have to pay the TV channel to transmit the programme and that in some cases, if not all, the series provides the feed but I pray that next year the LMS will do it better. The problem will be that we shall have both Audi and Peugeot in LMP1 so all the coverage will be of that front of field battle and we will see even less of the battles in the other 3 classes
A lot has been said on the sports and gt section of the discussion forum about this in the past, what are the views here?
