because they track the fuel useage on a spreadsheet? (a better joke?)
Or there is some sort of deal?

Is this realted to competing in rallying?

sorry, but that one tickles me everytime. (easily pleased me)

on a serious note we have to refuel in designated areas for safety reasons i suppose, and to stop all of us running around with gerry cans in an underground car park.

Whats petrol at a Rallycross event got to do with road cars ? EDIT was moved to road cars now back in R and R

May be the thread starter could of given a better description in his post.

May be thay mean you have to refuel in a particular place in the paddock which is not unusual these days in other forms of motorsport to have a designated refuelling area. Sure they dont mean using pump fuel because the Supercars wont be.!!

The Div 1's and Super National's can take their own fuel but it has to be left in the designated re-fuelling area.
All other classes have to buy the fuel supplied on site.
A fuel order form is included in the final regulations. (Ours arrived today)
And as daz2202 says, its a safety issue.

Just look at all the Race fuel that's about in a meeting, eg the GP at Croft what a BANG, Just think about it :burn: So maybe their taking precautions in case something does happen. And yes £2-00 is too much !!!!

The Way The Regs Read The Classes Involved Have To Buy The Fuel There, And Its Not £1.70 Per Litre Its £1.79 +vat Making It £2.10 Per Litre Which Seems A Bit Steep By Any Standards

I must say, I am not overly happy about the situation. It's going to be a pain going to the refueling area before every race. Also how are they going to measure what you use. I hope they realise that rallycross cars are not like rally cars and some may only need a couple of litres top up.
I suppose the HSE has the last word so we will have to abide by the rules.

Only the Supercars & Supernat's can use their own fuel, the rest of us have to use the Tesco pump ;)
I suppose thats understandable too. I mean it could be fun searching for your own jerry can among 100 others :?

Here's a link explaining the pricing structure. It seems the fuel we are using is better quality than the supermarket pumps :)

not realy a probelm if you sort yourself out .at motox enduros there would be well over 100 bikes and the cans in the refueling area could always be found ,and we didn't have 4 or 5 guys in a team to help out.

would think the main moan is the price which is understandable but you are racing in London and a very prestigious event ,
i would refuel anywhere regardless of what , if i was there
