Rounds 1 & 2 where at Brands Hatch (Indy).
Riki Christodoulou won race 1 from "aussie" Joshua Scott  . In race 2, Adam Christodoulou won...
kerrmanningjarv 31 Mar 2008, 15:26 I was there in person... both Christodoulou's looked impressive, as did Ryuji Yamamoto, Joshua Scott, Scott Jenkins and Alex Sims (despite stalling on the grid from pole on race 1).
IMO, it's between Christos and Sims, with Sims having the upper hand. My prediction is based on testing and results of first event. I really can't see anyone who can fight them three... maybe Buzaid, but I doubt. It's gonna be awsome season, can't wait next meeting.
good result for Scott for his first race in FR.
what moderater/host changed this topic's title by adding "opening rounds" ??? :banghead: - change it back!
if i wanted "opening rounds" added to it i would've put it in the title...
chunterer 4 Apr 2008, 10:55 Gomick, the thread starts off about the opening rounds at Brands and not asking about the whole season prospects?
I'll change it back if you like but why not open another one if you would like to have a more general dicsussion about the season ahead?
The more threads opened that encourage discussion the better in my book.
Cheers

Jimmy Magnusson 19 Apr 2008, 11:23 What happened to Hillspeed's entries? As far as I knew they were going to run Singleton and Alex Morgan this season...
kerrmanningjarv 20 Apr 2008, 09:03 Both drivers were snapped up by teams competing in Europe
Rounds 7 & 8 are at Thruxton this weekend - Adam Christodoulou has pole for both races...

chunterer 23 May 2008, 09:45 So is it too simplistic to say that it's a battle between the Cousins all year long?
no, i dont think so, though with a bit of luck Adriano Buzaid can stick with them & a couple of other youngsters can challenge for the odd win...
chunterer 23 May 2008, 13:07 Is that Alvaro Buzaid's son by any chance?
kerrmanningjarv 24 May 2008, 10:46 ^ Adriano Buzaid's dad raced in the UK in the 1980s apparently, but don't know what his first name was.
chunterer 24 May 2008, 11:04 Must be same guy then. Alvaro Buzaid was a front runner in British Formula Ford in 1983-85 IIRC then money ran out.
Rounds 9 & 10 are at Croft this weekend... Adam Christodoulou has pole for race 1 from Alexander Sims & cousin Riki. Riki has pole for race 2 from Sims & Adriano Buzaid...
Joshua Scott will start both races well back in the pack
Adam Christodoulou got his 5th race win of the season at Croft in the 1st race (Round 9) of the weekend. Round 10 has been provisionally scheduled to be held at Snetterton when the championship moves to the Norfolk venue on 12th/13th July...

chunterer 6 Jun 2008, 11:28 I'm sticking the thread for this weekend events as it's the big British Renault fest!!
Cheers

kerrmanningjarv 8 Jun 2008, 07:28 I think we'll see at least 1 Christo win today... possibly 2. Although I would love to see Buzaid win - the Christo domination is starting to get boring!
Any idea where are the results of morning race?
chunterer 8 Jun 2008, 11:56 Well Buzaid was on pole (from Calado?), with the 2 Christodoulou's on the 2nd row, be interesting to learn how things went......
Great weekend for Adriano Buzaid - cant ask for more than 2 poles & 2 race wins in front of the World Series Teams

10 Ryuji Yamamoto - 143
Rounds 12, 13 & 14 are being held at Snetterton...
Alexander Sims got the 1st race win. James Calado won race 2 from pole position - Dean Stoneman has pole for race 3...
Dean Stoneman got his 2nd race win of the season in race 3 at Snetterton...
runshaw 14 Jul 2008, 14:43 I'm surprised Riki hasn't won more races this year, but he's being ultra consistent, clawed a few points back on Adam this weekend. Good to see Calado winning in his first year, looks like he was a good choice for the Racing Steps Foundation.
Points after 14 rounds...
1. Adam Christodoulou - 331
2. Riki Christodoulou - 294
3. Alexander Sims - 285
4. Adriano Buzaid - 279

Adam Christodoulou won both races at Oulton Park to extend his points lead...
chunterer 29 Jul 2008, 11:00 Cheers Gomick.
I would say that's starting to put it out of realistic reach for his main rivals now?
Points after 16 rounds...
1. Adam Christodoulou - 395
2. Alexander Sims - 340
3. Adriano Buzaid - 319
4. Riki Christodoulou - 311
5. Dean Stoneman - 297
10. Joshua Scott - 194
chunterer 30 Jul 2008, 13:49 Hmmm, he's not as far in front as I thought but that gap is, what, 2-3 wins worth of points back to Sims?
I would say that Adam Christodoulou can only really lose the Championship from here - though, it is motor-racing & a couple of dnf's would throw the cat amongst the pidgeons
kerrmanningjarv 31 Jul 2008, 16:05 Plus there are drop scores to consider... so you don't know for sure until later in the season.
those above scores include the "drop scores"....
kerrmanningjarv 3 Aug 2008, 01:03 What I meant was: you can't say the title is wrapped up for sure because the points have to be recalculated after every round to include drop scores... so you never know exactly where everyone will be.
Adriano Buzaid & Jordan Oakes will start from the pole's in this weekend's rounds at Silverstone on the National circuit...
Alexander Sims & Adriano Buzaid shared the race wins on the National circuit at Silverstone...
Adriano Buzaid & Dean Stoneman got the pole positions for the season's finale at Brands...
Rounds 1 and 2 of the winter series were held at Croft last week, with a grid of 26 cars. James Calado and Henry Surtees won the races, with Stoneman close behind and Lewis Williamson making it onto the podium in his first car races. Good drivers down the field, Will Stevens who has been signed by the Honda F1 team made his debut. Felix da Costa who was a winner in the NEC this year also competed, but could only manage a 4th place. Formula Ford champion Wayne Boyd got good positions in both races.
Points:
1. James Calado Fortec Motorsport 64 pts
2. Henry Surtees Manor Competition 60 pts
3. Dean Stoneman Alpine Motorsports 41 pts
4. Wayne Boyd Fortec Motorsport 40 pts
5. Oli Webb Fortec Motorsport 36 pts
6. Harry Tincknell CR Scuderia Formula Renault 30 pts
7. Lewis Williamson Highland Arena 25 pts
8. Matias Laine CR Scuderia Formula Renault 24 pts
9. Will Buller Fortec Competition 22 pts
10. Tom Armour Manor Competition 20 pts
Rockingham is holding races 3 and 4 this weekend.
El_Gibleto 8 Nov 2008, 21:39 James Calado won the Winter series today, with a win from pole is round 3 and a magnificent recovery drive, following a first corner spin, in round 4.
Are the results anywhere from the Portugese Winter Series? I know Oli Webb and James Calado won the races at Jerez, but there were also races at Estoril. Never even realised Portugal had a Formula Renault championship!
El_Gibleto 2 Dec 2008, 23:35 Try www.formulajunior.net
James Calado won both of the Estoril races for Fortec, Oli Webb was 2nd in the winter series.
