Looks like a good calendar.
Open-wheel cars aren't all that common at Road Atlanta are they?
georgeboi999 4 Apr 2008, 16:39 No. They should though. It one of the better tracks in America.
wow, perfect calendar, am I right in guessing that the road atlanta race is with the ALMS? Or is it a standalone event?
Simon Speichert 6 Apr 2008, 15:50 Great calendar, I hope even though the series isn't attached at the hip to a larger series that teams find it worthwhile to continue participating. Four Canadian races, two of which I get to go to, and two in Quebec, including Mont Tremblant on the Canada Day weekend.

cptkablamo 15 Apr 2008, 15:48 Glad to see Wirth back racing this year...came third a couple of years back and was left without anything last year...interesting to see how he gets on...
On that note found this from him...http://www.racingrealities.com/RacingRealities.html
but they seemed to have pulled through ok for this year...hopefully they can build the momentum this year without a father series...

cptkablamo 1 Jul 2008, 07:01 Is it just me or is this grid getting smaller???
Shame it still seems to be a good grid but I don't envy those at the FA offices trying to make this work
Simon Speichert 1 Jul 2008, 09:00 I wouldn't expect the grid to get much smaller this year. There are some drivers who probably figured it wasn't worth it to finish the season as they wouldn't finish well in the championship. I'd imagine a few more might dip their toes into Indy Lights. Here's hoping the IMSA sanction next year encourages some Star Mazda teams to step up.

Probably just the top 10 above...
JOWT Blog 1 Jul 2008, 22:02 I expect the grid to maintain about 20 entries. Vicki O' Connor has done a very nice job keeping this series alive in 2008 and I think the IMSA sanction will do wonders.
If you like junior formula racing....this might be the schedule to watch next year with the possibility of an event with the Stars of Karting, Skip Barber, FBMW Americas, Star Mazda, and the Atlantic Championship all running a venue like RA??..... Let's hope.
Leighton Irwin 2 Jul 2008, 04:20 Somehow Vicki has kept FA going since the late 70's through some pretty tough times. She is getting on in years so I hope there is someone as competent to take over. Sorry about the age comment Vicki but I was a FA wrench in the 70's when Bill was racing in the series and I will hit 70 this month.
Formula BMW Americas is a waste - i like the idea of Skip Barber, Star Mazda & Atlantics

 - lets see if that is the same key to winning this weekend at Trois Rivieres
El_Gibleto 16 Aug 2008, 21:49 I find it amusing that Frankie Muniz qualified and finished ahead of both Mansell's :-)
Does anyone know what the atmosphere is like within the Walker Racing team this year? How is the teams third driver coping?

They should be OK - does "the Nige" finance their rides?
JOWT Blog 6 Oct 2008, 16:39 Mansell 10th. Reasonable for his experience. Any idea's what's next for the Mansell's ?
It's too early to predict, but I would hope to see both back in the Atlantic Championship for another year of development.
JamesRamone 6 Oct 2008, 19:31 They should be OK - does "the Nige" finance their rides?
I think so, Unipart sponsored them in the British F3, but i'm not sure if they have an American Market or if Unipart are part of the Mansell's Atlantic Sponsorship.
JamesRamone 8 Oct 2008, 20:58 http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/71224
Not really Atlantic related, but Mansell might be heading to Europe for the Renault World Series
Both will likely compete in Europe next year.
