Great calendar, I hope even though the series isn't attached at the hip to a larger series that teams find it worthwhile to continue participating. Four Canadian races, two of which I get to go to, and two in Quebec, including Mont Tremblant on the Canada Day weekend.

Shame it still seems to be a good grid but I don't envy those at the FA offices trying to make this work

I wouldn't expect the grid to get much smaller this year. There are some drivers who probably figured it wasn't worth it to finish the season as they wouldn't finish well in the championship. I'd imagine a few more might dip their toes into Indy Lights. Here's hoping the IMSA sanction next year encourages some Star Mazda teams to step up.

I expect the grid to maintain about 20 entries. Vicki O' Connor has done a very nice job keeping this series alive in 2008 and I think the IMSA sanction will do wonders.

If you like junior formula racing....this might be the schedule to watch next year with the possibility of an event with the Stars of Karting, Skip Barber, FBMW Americas, Star Mazda, and the Atlantic Championship all running a venue like RA??..... Let's hope.

Somehow Vicki has kept FA going since the late 70's through some pretty tough times. She is getting on in years so I hope there is someone as competent to take over. Sorry about the age comment Vicki but I was a FA wrench in the 70's when Bill was racing in the series and I will hit 70 this month.

Round nine winner, Carl Skerlong will have to sit out this weekend due to a concussion (http://juniorformula.blogspot.com/2008/10/skerlong-released-from-hospital-but-not.html) sustained in Tuesday practice. Skerlong was currently in fourth place in the overall driver championship.

Indy Lights hotshoe J.R. Hildebrand is running an Atlantic Car this weekend for Genoa Racing, partnering current pole sitter Dane Cameron.

Markus Niemela is the 2008 Atlantic Championship title holder. The Finnish driver won today's race at Road Atlanta. Jonathan Bomarito had the points lead heading into the event, but failed to finish the race due to a mechanical failure.

It's too early to predict, but I would hope to see both back in the Atlantic Championship for another year of development.

I think so, Unipart sponsored them in the British F3, but i'm not sure if they have an American Market or if Unipart are part of the Mansell's Atlantic Sponsorship.
