Lam Pak 11 Apr 2008, 09:43 i am gonna follow adderly fong and al fardan. fong was very quick sometimes in teesting in china formula renault but he is not exceptional. the team is bad and i think he will slow cause of that. al fardan i want to know if he was saying the true when he spit on f3 asia.
bluelite 11 Apr 2008, 10:03 On april 21st we will have a first real indication during the official test day at the Hockenheimring. Let's see who's faster: Al Fardan or Vervisch. If he would be slower, then you can be sure there was no cheating involved in Asian F3 with Team Goddard.
nice to see Rahel Frey in ATS Formula 3 after one dissapointing season in Formula Master
My bet is on Eng. Showed a good pace during his test with Hi-Tech, in case he doesn't move to Hitech to race in British F3, I think I can win here. Vervisch is a good candidate too, but I rate HS Technik higher as a team as STR. Any news on possible drivers for JB? I read Verdonck is gonna race in Italian F3 so he's out of the picture.
bluelite 12 Apr 2008, 16:53 JB will most certainly not start in German F3.... :(
why that? not in German F3 ? so Where?
Francis Albert 13 Apr 2008, 15:41 That's not good. Sometime last year it looked like they had some serious stuff planned for this season. What happened?
bluelite 13 Apr 2008, 18:07 Teammanager Laurent Verhoestraete is not with the team anymore and they still didn't find drivers for this season. Last year they had Vervisch and Verdonck already testing for them many weeks before the season started, but now there isn't anyone testing. One of the reasons why Olivier didn't continue working with Verhoestraete. JB has some ideas about the future, but that wouldn't involve F3.
RichardRenes 14 Apr 2008, 21:43 Just how definitive is Rahel Frey, because her name is not named anywhere.. It's not on her site, nor on the ATS Formel 3 site, nor on the Van Amersfoort site.
bluelite 14 Apr 2008, 21:59 Source: Motorsport Aktuell website.
bluelite 15 Apr 2008, 20:11 In the mean time, Frey's name also appeared on the official entry list for the first race in Hockenheim. Also, Vervischs teammate from Asian F3, Rafael Suzuki, has been added to Performance Racing line-up. Johnny Cecotto Jr also enters for German F3 (private entry it seems). Nice entry list for this years German F3 season if you ask me.

Lam Pak 26 Apr 2008, 06:18 fong from HK dont make it?
Adderly Fong Qualify P19 for the first Race and the Second
Hesketh 29 Apr 2008, 16:24 My friend Matteo won the Jim Clark memorial, and his team mate Federico (my cousin's boyfriend) was third in race 2. I'm sooo pleased!
Go, team Ombra Go!!
strider 29 Apr 2008, 17:12 Results of Race 1 here (http://www.italiaracing.net/notizia.asp?id=18884&cat=25) and Race 2 here (http://www.italiaracing.net/notizia.asp?id=18904&cat=25).
A great weekend for Matteo Chinosi, Ombra Racing and of course the Neil Brown Engineering prepared Mugen-Honda engines. Chinosi's results were the same as Sergio Perez had in British F3 at Croft and they both lead thir respective championships.
I don't know what Norbert Haug is going to make of it all!
Go_For_Pole 2 May 2008, 11:35 Claim that NBE is another evil that outspends MB?!

I just really hope NBE can get and sign badger for their engines, Toyota or FIAT...

Johnny Cecotto was fastest in both qualifying sessions...
Time comparison's...
Valtteri Bottas 1:37.638 (Formula Renault)
Johnny Cecotto 1:32.738 (Formula 3)
Team-mates Johnny Cecotto & Sebastian Saavedra shared the Assen race wins - shaping up to be a great season of racing in this years championship

1. Matteo Chinosi - 59
2. Johnny Cecotto - 56
3. Frédéric Vervisch - 56
4. Sebastian Saavedra - 54

bluelite 15 Aug 2008, 14:21 Vervisch changed teams: going from Swiss Racing Team to Jo Zeller Racing... immediately taking poleposition on the Nürburgring in the wet.
http://www.formel3.com/ergebnisse/2008-08-17-q1.pdf
he got pole for race 2 aswell...
bluelite 17 Aug 2008, 13:29 And took two victories and fastest laps!

Result race 2: http://www.formel3.com/ergebnisse/2008-08-17-r2.pdf
Those 2 race wins by Frederic Vervisch have leap-frogged him into the points lead - could he win 2 F3 titles in the same year
Points after 12 rounds...
1. Frederic Vervisch - 80
2. Johnny Cecotto - 61
3. Matteo Chinosi - 61
4. Sebastian Saavedra - 58
5. Kevin Mirocha - 45
6. Laurens Vanthoor - 45
7. Rafael Suzuki - 39
bluelite 7 Sep 2008, 21:25 Another two wins for Vervisch on the Eurospeedway, increasing chamoionship lead to 31 points. I think that it is some time ago that one driver could win two F3 titles in one year . Anyone who knows this?
Albeckinho 8 Sep 2008, 05:15 If Im correct, someone named Alain Prost won French F3 title and FIA European title in 1979. So that should rise some interest on Versich.
Yes but asian F3 with 5 cars on the grid does not really have an credit...
Vervisch is really turning it on now - 4 wins in a row & a handy points lead...
Points after 14 rounds...
1. Frederic Vervisch - 103
2. Sebastian Saavedra - 72
3. Matteo Chinosi - 69
4. Johnny Cecotto - 67
5. Laurens Vanthoor - 53
bluelite 8 Sep 2008, 19:22 Yes but asian F3 with 5 cars on the grid does not really have an credit...
For sure, but he proves now that Hamad Al Fardan has wrongfully accused him and Team Goddard of cheating! Vervisch is a good driver and certainly one to watch in the future.
With another race win - Laurens Vanthoor won race 2...
Points after 16 rounds...
1. Frederic Vervisch - 120
2. Sebastian Saavedra - 83
3. Johnny Cecotto - 82
4. Matteo Chinosi - 73
5. Laurens Vanthoor - 72
bluelite 22 Sep 2008, 17:25 Vervisch will not take part in the last meeting of the championship due to lack of funding.
Albeckinho 10 Oct 2008, 19:31 Esteban Gutierrez will drive for Josef Kauffmann this weekend.
bluelite 10 Oct 2008, 21:41 ...while Mirocha takes over Vervisch's seat at Jo Zeller Racing. Niall Quinn took Rahel Frey's place (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Philipp Eng is back with Ombra Racing, replacing Matteo Chinosi motivation problems.
Pole in race 1 is for Vanthoor.
runshaw 10 Oct 2008, 23:55 Philipp Eng is back with Ombra Racing, replacing Matteo Chinosi motivation problems.
What do you mean by motivation problems? Is he lazy?!
bluelite 11 Oct 2008, 09:45 Not really, but he lost confidence after losing the championship lead and before the last round in Oschersleben he was only fourth in the standings. You have to know that he was leading the championship quite comfortably halfway the season.
runshaw 11 Oct 2008, 13:30 Yeah I do, and he put on a great performance in the British F3 round at Monza, taking overall pole position. Strange he's given up though, not many people do that...
