Sparco Visor Problem

Hi Guys,

No joy in the technology section, so I hope nobody minds if I repost my question here?

I was cleaning my visor yesterday and noticed that a 'film' on the inside of the visor has started to seperate near the bottom, right in the line of sight for my left eye. I hadn't noticed this 'film' before then, but obviously it's causing me a real problem now.

Can this film be removed without damaging the visor easily? I'm guessing it's some kind of anti-fog treatment that comes as standard, rather than anti-scratch. Or is this going to be more of a pain than its worth, and should I just replace the visor.

Only done 5 outings with the helmet, seems a real shame to replace the visor this soon if I can avoid it.

Any chance in explaining a bit more what sort of "film" you mean?

Perhaps its a "BLUE" film :)

Don't know what you could possibly mean .... :innocent:

...

Ahem, anyway, the film.

When cleaning it (and it's wet) it goes tacky and behaves a bit like a gum. When dry, it's smooth as a babys bottom but feels a little like rubber if you push across the visor. It's only on the inside, and it's definately not the plastic film they stick on plastics to stop them getting trashed in transport, or anything left over from that.

Doesn't show up on a photo either :(

Where did you get it from? Ring them up and ask them what to do about it - they may know if it's a 'common problem', or they may try and sell you a replacement, but you'll probably get a more direct answer :)

ITs the anti mist film - which will be rectangular in shape I would have thought. I am guessing you could remove - but then you need to use a Rain X type solution to stop fogging.
