Kansas Race Weekend ThreadAlfa Fan 26 Apr 2008, 21:29 As far as I can make out there's no thread for this weekend race yet. Qualifyings just getting underway, Justin Wilson out first. Alfa Fan 26 Apr 2008, 23:03 Dixon and Wheldon take out the front row, with Marty Roth taking a remarkable 7th. jonm2 26 Apr 2008, 23:07 Roth out qualifies penske cars :rotate: NAC 27 Apr 2008, 01:43 On ya Scottie. Now just bring home the win rush1 27 Apr 2008, 05:12 AJ Foyt IV and Ed carptenter in the third row? Should be an interesting race. cos 27 Apr 2008, 21:33 Race starts in 90 mins or so? Moraes totalled his car in qualifying, touch and go whether his car will be in a raceable condition. Jonerz 27 Apr 2008, 22:56 Vision racing have really upped their game this year. That 20 car is worth the Menards sponsorship, very reminiscent in performance of the Team Menards cars from Indy's past. Can't wait for the race to start, will be watching it on IndyCar.com because TSN Alternate feed hasn't been working for me in my experience thus far. Chris cos 27 Apr 2008, 23:38 Oh dear, Roth just almost ran over most of Schekter's pitcrew  ...and now Roth baulks Wilson and costs him half a dozen places. mp356a 28 Apr 2008, 02:53 What a terrible race. Can't wait for the "new" guys to get up to speed. I hope that they can make some serious gains during the month of May. ozrevhead 28 Apr 2008, 13:16 It wasnt great admittled and can someone give me a rundown of the rules regarding backmarkers and indy - I dont know who the idiot was who kept blocking Ryan but it cost him a chance at a podium.......I was so angry , no ___ed off more like it  In any other motorsport if a backmarker doesnt move off the racing line after a point then they get a penalty Jonerz 28 Apr 2008, 13:33 It's really difficult to get out of the way on an oval if you're racing someone else as the leaders come by. If you were running on your own, and weren't really concerned about your own race *sneeze*Milka!*sneeze* you could pull onto the apron and complete the majority of your race offline, but these guys are all racers. I haven't seen the blocking that occurred but if it was blatant a black flag should have been shown. However, if Ryan hadn't the speed to safely complete the pass, he's on his own there. Chris P.S. Got to watch the race on TV as TSN Alternate worked (finally). Hooray for sitting on a comfortable couch while watching racing! ozrevhead 28 Apr 2008, 14:44 It's really difficult to get out of the way on an oval if you're racing someone else as the leaders come by. Got to watch the race on TV as TSN Alternate worked (finally). Hooray for sitting on a comfortable couch while watching racing! probally right but seeying that we get at least 2-3 pitstops on average in most races why cant the backmarkers go through the pitlane (thats the safest way) and have them at the back for a clean race On ryans instance there was room and i think its the onus on the backmarker to get out of the way - hes not racing for position. What happend next time when the 'backmarker' has a car problem and takes the person for postion out - could determ the championship at the wrong time Teretonga 28 Apr 2008, 22:37 They have a real problem with this closed pits rule etc....It's an absolute farce when the leader sops for fuel and is penalised by being in the pits when the yellow comes out. Those on the track get a definite advantage and it has nothing to do with the racing.... TG, Cottman & co will do nothing about it until it almost destroys the Indy 500 and then we will probably get knee jerk reaction with another stupid rule... It ha provided two out of the box winners in 4 races and is bound to affect more races this season. It virtually turns the series into a lottery. Leighton Irwin 29 Apr 2008, 18:16 The more rules you get the more room for 'interperation' and foul ups. All of motorsport needs to back to axiom #1. the infamous kiss rule: KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!!!!! |
