All UK races - 2 years ago
UK rallies - end 08
Other events - not on the horizon AFAIK but I don't have the ear of the MSA

Zip replaced - not cheap, lot of work. If it's only a Proban, go to your local seamstress, if it's FIA go to the manufacturer because repairs MUST be done properly to keep the homologation.

Just checked the 2008 blue book page162 itemC(c)78 and it states that proban overalls are ok.

Nope, you're wrong. Read it again carefully:

78. Clean flame resistant overalls must be worn which can be manufactured from Nomex III, Proban or equivalent materials. Acceptable standards are:

79. Racing
FIA 8856-2000 or FIA Norme 86

80. Karting blah blah blah

81. All other events blah blah blah EN533

EN533 is the standard Proban conforms to. Won't pass FIA.

If you're racing you need FIA homologated overalls, if the scrute at Snett didn't spot that, be afraid, did he miss something else that could cause an accident?

honestly Copperbottom, 'tis true. You've mis-read the rules, if you're racing don't bother to even get the zip repaired! Search Google for "racewear" and go to the first site listed in the "natural" section (they're too tight to pay for sponsored links).
