Does anyone know the likely future of FIA's Bathurst sponsorship,
now that HIH has gone down?
I see that Allianz has taken on FIA's policy liabilities.
Allianz is also one of Williams F1 major sponsors.
As well as having a of lot track signage in Europe this year.
Anyone heard a whisper?... Started a rumour?...
Cheers R.
Thats a good question Rusty. I know FAI still exists under FAI Finance and FAI Home Security, so maybe they will continue as per there agreement.
Or they may use another name - hmmm, this is a good question. Answers anybody?

Only thing I know for sure is that Gallaher won't be looking to rekindle their association with the race.

FIA withdrew their sponsorship of Bathurst at least 4 or 5 months ago. Don't believe a replacement has yet been announced.
Sort of like the sponsor for the NZ round....

If you go to FAI's site you'll see Allianz own the name and the business.
What's the chances come October. We'll see Bathurst done up in a bright blue? R.

Hmm... wonder if that was so there was more in the pot for the execs to pay themselves in bonuses before the business crashed?
I am pretty sure that FAI had already planned to withdraw from bathurst sponsorhip prior to them going bankrupt.
The new sponor for Bathurst is me - 'The Scott Russell Bathurst 1000' :rotate:

Yes, DNQ, that was the import of both those posts.
I doubt there'll be trouble finding a naming rights-sponsor, but the late hour may mean they have to settle for a lower figure.
