Hello, first of many threads I hope, glad to be on board, but I have one question to ask.

I sprint a '68 Bond Equipe GT4S in the Nottingham Sports Car Club championship. Does anyone know of any other Equipes that do or have competed in the past?
cheers Claypole.

Welcome to 10-10ths Claypole.

I don't race a Bond Equipe, but an MGB. Which is a little common compared to yours! :)
How long have you been sprinting?

Thanks Adam,
This has been my first foray into sprinting (indeed any motorsport at all) and I have done four events so far.
I built my car for fast road purposes, but then decided to have a go at sprinting, unfortunately, my modifications put me squarely in the Mod Prod class against 240bhp escorts and 200bhp novas, never mind eh.
I do however qualify for the classic trophy and have come second this year which is good for a shakedown year, but missing out by 3 points on the trophy is a little galling.

you can see the car on you tube if you type in Bond Equipe into the search engine,
cheers Calvin.
ps Which series do you race the B in and what is the French connection?

I just cannot recall ever seeing a Bond Equipe in competition, so it will be interesting to see if we get any joy, here.

It has a great selection of sixties cars and longer races which I like.
The French connection is a reference to the great Rouen track and also the title of a Supergrass album (although not one of their best).

Hi John and Adam,
local eh? Just down the road in Boston I am, the Bond is as light as a spitfire, and can be made to handle quite tidily, so a bit of a candidate for motorsport I would have thought.
I am a bit of a francophile, love the renault alpine and gordini lines, even though I lost out to a pretty A110 in the classic trophy this year. Got quite a few triumph friends in the swinging sixties as well.
Cheers Calvin

Calvin, I don't doubt it; afterall a well prepped Spitfire goes pretty well. I just can't remember seeing a Bond race in period, or indeed, at all, which is a shame.

As for Boston, if you haven't been there already, pop in to The Country Gourmet; a great little place where you can eat well without breaking the bank!

John,
if my wife and I are in Town shopping, usually with my two kids in tow, we always go to the country gourmet, got the little plastic card(tentenths ad) from there in fact. I love its unpretentious ambience, unlike costabucks and the like, but you can still get a decent americano.
Maybe I'll catch you in there one day.
cheers Calvin
