Ah, the year that the Aston DBR1/300 finally won the event. This all looks very promising; welcome cub.

Very interesting picture that, because all three Ferraris shown finished the race. The yellow GT was 4th overall, the California Spyder 5th, and the White GT in the background was 6th driven by Fayen and Munaron.

Does it apply to the F1 races at Reims as well?

Regarding the Martin/Kimberley Ferrari.... I feel a 43rd scale model re-paint coming on!

Hi Cub
Super photos, have you any of the Triumph team that ran 3 x TR3S 2 ltr twin cam engined cars numbers 25, 26 and 27. They were similar to the road going TR3A's but had expermintal engines, fiberglass bodies and were 6 inches longer. Unfortunatley they all failed to finish and were scrapped by Triumph on return to the UK. I am in the early stages of building a replicia and am eager to get it as close to the "real thing" as possible so any shots would be very much apriciated.

Phil.

Hello Phil. I do recall the Triumphs (Sanderson/Stoop, Bolton/Rothschild, Jopp/Stoop?). I may have a shot of them but I'm note sure. My son, Cob, is in the process of sorting through my very large collection. If we have one we will post it on this site.

I just have to say a big thankyou for posting these amazing images.

I'm not into Historic racing, but I do get a sense of awe looking at the pictures. The sense of atmosphere around the events and sights they have captured is brilliant.

Thank you again to both Navyflier for making them available and Cub for posting them.

I love the Lotus. I love the shots of the Aston team in preparation in the courtyard, and the cockpit shot is fascinating.

Hi Cob,
Super photos , I cant belive my eyes.
Behind the lotus is a Triumph TR3S I think its No 26 XHP 940 driven by Peter Bolton and Mike Rotschild, it did not last long- the cooling fan broke up and holed the radiator on lap 35.

The Tojeiro and D-Type being ecurie ecosse entries werre dark blue while the Listers being factory entries would have been dark green. But they all appear to be thesame colour!

From my informations, the SAAB n°43 should have been dark blue. Here it looks dark green. Which do you think is the correct paint?
And what about the n°44 car?
It looks painted in a sort of grey, but I have known it could have been of a light green (ligher than the UDT pale green).
Interesting the dark red wheels.
Again my compliments, cub...

P.S.: why not put this treasure into a book ??
