I do believe that the next round at Barbagallo will return to the 3x20 minute races.
After a few races this year, what do you think of the longer races? Are the 20 minute races better? Do you think HRT will once again kick everyones arses at Barbagallo??

the new format is probably the same, it hasn't really made the racing more exciting, to me and probably others it Just seems like AVESCO looking for ways to make races more exciting (reverse grids), but i think a singlr race would be better, that way there would be a proper winner for the weekend. I know its the rules and the same for everyone, but it isn't really right that Ambrose won Hidden Valley without wining a race, so i think a 50-60 minute race like we used to have is better.
I also wonder why Calder wasn't suitable for a pitstop race, it did after all host a World Touring Car Championship race in 1987.
I like the 3x20 format. Compulsory pitstops are so silly.

Agreed, and other stronger words are also appropriate.
The way the original multi-heat rules were written, it was clear that the purpose was to give the greatest prospect of the results being the same as a single heat race would have produced.
They've taken the format and butchered it, though. While this had been done to enhance the excitement (two starts, for instance, and a chance for unlucky competitors knocked out in the first heat to have another go), it's irrelevant with the size and strength of fields in modern racing.

So what do we think of the old format after the racing? I think it was pretty good, there was a fair bit of overtaking, which I think is the exception and not the rule for Barbagallo....your thoughts?
