Yes, I will, and bringing the booze!

But I feel like going back to the dark ages, I had to book a ferry for the weekend (as I waited to long to book at Eurotunnel, bloody bank holiday and all those ****** tourists).
I think I can swim faster than that.

Have to leave at an ungodly hour as well, doh!

So I doubt I will be that friendly that weekend. :ouch:

Eddy,
The local sunday rag reported last week that repairs to the tunnel should be completed by february, so it should be business as usual next season !

p.s. Are you bringing over anything to wean me off of Bitburger that I seem to have got a taste for ?

Odd request but... anyone have a copy of the programme from Brands on the 24th August?

Eddy V
22 Oct 2008, 22:22
If you like Alan, I can always bring something, just send me a PM.
But this time it is my mistake with Eurotunnel, just forgot about Nov 1, usually a busy weekend.

Robert, will come and say hello.

Little reminder: even though I drive an Estate, doesn't mean I can bring huge amounts of drinks, cigars, ciggies, women's underwear (huh?) without getting arrested by customs. :rotate:

Eddy V
23 Oct 2008, 13:29
I have no problem with customs (at Eurotunnel) they all know me by now.
But as I'm taking the rowing boat for once, that is another matter.
Me smuggling? Never. All personal stuff for the weekend, heavy drinker and so.

Big Dave
26 Oct 2008, 20:15

Any DMN drivers who are racing at Brands on Nov.1st/2nd, please be aware that the paddock parking plan has altered slightly since the published one. Basically the trucks need a parc ferme area (which coincidentally is the same area we use for the calendar shots), so we are now parking where the Caterhams were against the outer edge, and where BTRA trucks were shown next to the Legends. Hope this makes sense, it will be cordoned off any way.

28 Oct 2008, 17:54
so is space going to be short then??

Rod Birley
28 Oct 2008, 18:15
No, there should be plenty of space. The only groups in the paddock are trucks (22), DMN (35), Legends (28) and about a dozen Caterhams.

Big Dave
28 Oct 2008, 18:28
ah thanks Rod, but 22 trucks wont need much room;)

Rod Birley
28 Oct 2008, 18:45
Basically the trucks have got the lower paddock beyond Hailwoods, and this area includes their "parc ferme". If anybody wants to be brave enough and share this area, then I wish them good luck.

Fantastic day, with a good size crowd. Shame about some peoples antics last night and hope Ray Barrow's trailer is OK for the trip home. Congratulations to Richard Brent on a 100% winning record in class D this year. His fight for second overall today certainly had the commentators excited, but also well done to Darren Bly getting home stuck in fourth gear. All the championship sponsors are on board for next year, so let's look forward to 2009.

Rod Birley
2 Nov 2008, 22:15
Not sure exactly what happened but it involved Peter Taylor, Andy Baker and possibly James Lindridge and/or Andy Wickens. Lots of debris on the top straight just before the finish line.

jonbryant
2 Nov 2008, 22:23
Heard reports that Peter and Andy got together somehow but not that anyone else was involved. Then Nick Hayes collected the bumper when he ducked out of Steve Dann's slipstream.

Of course I didn't know anything about it! Nice to get so many waves from you lot on the slow down lap though!

James Lindridge was extrememly lucky to avoid hitting a spinning Peter Taylor, James had to drive round the spinning car on the grass in avoidance.

Andy Wickens said that he only had 2nd and 4th gears.

Jon did you do anything with these shots afterward in Photoshop or similar? I see you were running at ISO1250 and there's little if no noise visible. My Nikon at ISO800 or above is like looking at photos of a pin cushion.

jonbryant
4 Nov 2008, 16:51
Nothing on them Photoshop wise Tim. That's almost exactly how they came out of the camera except a levels tweak to try and pick them up slightly but that won't affect the noise. It's just down to having a *very* expensive camera that is pretty much noise free up to about iso 2600. If you look at the start shot of the grid thats at iso 2000 and is still noise free.

Got to love the 1dMkIII. Much better than a Ninko :p

We could ask for next years dmn dates but we know Rods working on them, Are there any expected rule changes for 2009?
From my point DMN has to be the best championship in the south east good competition at great value. Hope this still can be acheived for 2009. We have a good team sorting it.:) Thanks go to this years working party, to many to list.
