keep it seperate i say ..it is a stand alone championship in my view ..but as usual tony C's view differs from mine and many others.

Yes, Bathurst wasn't Tony C's idea, so it can't be any good.

There's no doubt it has no place whatever in the ATCC, but it could be a round of any endurance championship, as it was in the old days.

I ran a poll on this over at Accelerate last month, and a majority of people either votes no, or bring back the endurance championship...

Problem there, as I see it, is that the Endurance Championship has no relevance if confined to the two-make V8s, and they rule the roost now.

Of course, if Cochrane was to leave Bathurst and another promoter took up the race, then invited the V8s, there would surely be a revolt in the ranks and they would be there with sponsors in hand.

seperate, definately ... it should never have been a part of the Championship ... let it stand alone, I say :)

Of course it shouldn't be part of the championship and it should be the last race of the year also.

I agree, the series should be structured like it used to be, Shell series and then endurance series after.

I think Tony C will probably try and get rid of bathurst even if the Gov't funding comes, he knows people talk about bathurst more than him or the rest of the series. Maybe then other promoters who care about bathurst and not a championship will take it over.

The problem wiuth the Endurance champinship was that it always struggled to get fields, many teams simply couldn't be bothered running in it.

To quote Tony Cochrane, as close as possible that is...well, he said that Bathurst will remain part of the championship so that one race does not get any preference to the detriment of the entire series. He added a bit about ch7 having done so as well. Whatever it is, chances are it will be shown on sunday during superstars.

please dont shoot me down in flames for this comment...but

I actually agree with tony's comments on bathurst..i never thought about that way before and after hearing him say it im am adament that bathurst should be part of the champioship but will add that it should definately be the last round of the year so that way its an all out street fight or mountain fight whatever the case maybe .

I have a problem here because I can't agree with anything he says at any time...

Call me old fashoined, but I believe the race should stand alone, or be part of a Manufacturer's title.

Keep it a stand alone round. Or at least make it normal points.
