Graham,
"Boxer" means "flat". The term "boxing" describes the horizontal movement of the pistons as in throwing a punch.
Q15?: 4 cyl.boxer
Q16?: I don't know.
Jarama,
Q15. You're right with the 4 cylinders but in what configuration?
Q16. I do ;)
Geezers and Peter,
Ummm... 'flat' or 'boxer' ain't the answer I've got. Anyone care to give me proof before I give my answer?
Doesn't anyone know the wheelbase?
Q16. This is just a wild guess.
I think the length of the original Messerschmitt was 305 cm.
So, I think the wheelbase must have been something like 230 cm.
Gerard.
Eeeee, lad. Us Brits are a bit backward, see? We're still working in inches! Well... I am most of the time.
What is 230cm in inches anyone?
I'm not sure Graham, but I think 230 cm is about 90 to 91 inches.
Gerard.
>Q15. What engine configuration did the Lancia Fulvia Coupé have?
It was a "tight" V4. Tight because the V angle was a mere 12 degrees. This was the case for the all the Fulvia engines, from the 1.0 litre through to the fuel injected 1.6 version.
(way hay - the first question I can answer :))
Andrew has got the question right - congrats ;)
The wheelbase of the Messer was 80 inches - I checked in a knackered copy of a mag called Classic Cars from 1987.
