MOTORSPORT TRIVIA - Q50, 51, 52 & 53

Q50: Brands Hatch 1967, won by Ray Allen.

Q51: Torino, Circuito del Valentino. Monza was under rebuilding, and not available, resp. was finished at that time, but GP scheduled already for Torino.

Q52: This is a difficult one! As far I know the Ayrton-Senna-Memorial-Trophy is presented to the winner of the international kart race at Suzuka/Japan. On May 25, 1997, there had been a FA race won by Kosuke Matsuura, and a FSA race won by Kasushi Sano. So one of the 2 should have won the Ayrton-Senna-Trophy,

Q51. Where was the 1948 Italian Grand Prix held, and why?

Q52. Who won the Ayrton Senna Memorial Trophy in 1997?

PS. Do you reckon Luigi Musso and Eugenio Castellotti were great drivers, or just good?

Belgian Willy Mairesse toke an overdose of sleeping pills in an Ostend hotel room in 1969.
He was a racer pur sang, and he never fully recovered from an accident at the 1968 Le Mans race.
It wasn't the fact he was in poor health that made him decide to make an end to his life, but the prospect of never been able to race again.

Ayrton Senna Memorial Trophy : I think we're talking Formula Ford here.

Formula Ford is not correct, the Ayrton-Senna-Memorial-Trophy is presented in Kart racing, and in fact at Suzuka in Formula A. However, I'm not correct too, it was none of the 2 japanese drivers, it was of course Jenson Button! The strange thing is that he did not win the race, but finished only on place 27. Did anybody know the rules for winning this trophy?

I think so Luigi Musso as Eugenio Castellotti were true great drivers, from those called racers, but both of them were killed so much young...

I've read a lot about them, it was truly a great era with Musso, Castellotti and the likes of de Portago, Collins, Hawthorn, Lewis-Evans, Mairesse, Gendebien and co.
