CART trivia teaser

With talk of CART returning to Europe shortly can someone tell me the last CART (or whatever they have been previously called) race held in Europe - both year and circuit.

I don't know the answer myself just curious.

I think it was Brands Hatch 1978. Hence the Indy circuit. ;)

It was Brands Hatch. Champ Car raced their on October 7, 1978. Rick Mears won in his Gould Charge Penske/Cosworth.

Six days earlier (Oct 1) they raced at the Silverstone Circuit. That race was won by AJ Foyt in his Citicorp Coyote/Foyt.

Those are the only two race that have been in Europe since the combined F1 races in Monza in the 50s.
