R.I.P Top Gear (no need to worry folks - someone dragged up an old thread!)

The BBC have axed their high-ratings motoring show Top Gear in order to revamp the programme for a new show in October, Presenter Tiff Needell will not take part in this new show though, Tiff has presented Top Gear since 1987 and is a professional racing driver, the programme shown at 8:30p.m on Thursdays has achieved more ratings than any other programme on BBC2 at prime-time, regular presenters are Jason Barlow, Vicki Butler-Henderson and ofcourse Tiff Needell, previous presenters have been Jeremy Clarkson and Quentin Wilson both have left Top Gear in previous years and ratings slumped but this year after Barlow switched from Channel 4's rival programme Driven the ratings have slightly grown but the Beeb want to make a fresh new start!

BBC are crazy to let Tiff go, but they'd better keep VBH or else I won't watch the new revamped version of it in October!

Blimey.

Just as long as they keep the ever-delightful Vicki...

Sad to admit it, but I think the show certainly lost "something" when Jezza left. A tit, yes, but Mr Clarkson WAS the show. The banter was somewhat lost after then.....

I used to love top gear ...until my cable TV provider decided to drop BBC alltogether now i dont get it at all and havent seen it for over a year...I miss it already and now their axing it alltogether ....dang !!!!

jeremy Clarkson is a riot and tiff needell is quite good as well....I hope the new show lives up to the one that they are axing.

Clarckson leaving the show has damaged the format somewhat. But a relaunched show will be intresting as log as the keep the delightful VBH. Her squeals of delight when pushing a car just do something for me.

BTW Watch the show tonght. The are doing a test on the Aston Martin Vanquish (mmmm, nice). Where did I put that lottery ticket?

Mhhhh.....I don't know why I always thought I was the only one to have a thing for VBH. ;)

The show is great. It's trhe best auto show I've seen......even better than Auto motor und Sport in the DW channel. It's a shame tiff is going though.

Come back Clarkson and Needell, and get rid of that Adrian Simpson (or whatever his name is) bloke, because he's a complete pratt.

'Top Gear' lost its appeal ages ago. 'Driven' is the new king.

'Driven' is great. Its the best.

It got relabelled 5th Gear and moved to a rival channel.

The BBC then started afresh.

Or have I got that wrong? :D
