Greg Ray was released yesterday by Menard after taken 13 poles and 5 wins in the last 3 years with the team. No word is out of yet as to where he will end up. Promising racer Jacques Lazier will replace Ray. Lazier had been racing for Sam Schmidt Racing and it has been a crushing blow to the fledgling team. They will now throw all their effort behind new signee Anthony Lazzarro.
This change will take place immediately. Lazier will be driving for Menard at St. Louis.
wow...this is a surprise...greg ray has had a bit of a shocker this year..he is very quick but sometimes doesnt use his head..but i hope he can land a new ride soon.
they also let go the chief engineer I believe earlier this month ..so big changes afoot for team menard it seems.
jacques lazier to take over the drive...hmmmm..has been pretty good with the sam Scmidt team and i wish him well at his new home.
now Anthony lazzaro to drive for sam Scmidt's team..now this is exciting stuff..he was very quick in Atlantics but seemed to dissappear and now he pops up here ..I hope he does well and the next race is looking exciting...dont kow if it will happen but who knows after his test with hemelgarn we may even see Johnny herbert have a drive to try and help Buddy lazier win the championship if possible.
ok thats a long shot but there is always a chance.
The release of Greg Ray may have been less of an acrimonius departure now with the news of Brack leaving Rahal. It now appears that he might have a shot at the Shell car for Rahal. I know Ray came from F2000 and is familiar with road racing and is obviously fast but sometimes too far on the edge.
ohhh..thats big statement ..im not sure he will go to CART ..it would be good to see how he does but could you imagine him and Max in the same series let alone the same team :)
and as for lazzaro going missing ..i have just watched the Tranzam race from sears point and he was in the Viper usually driven by tommy Archer ..so i guess he hasnt dissapeared after all :)
