Wanted - Single seater cover

Can anybody tell me where I can get an outdoor cover to use on my '73 Formula Ford.
I've trawled the usual mags & web sites but can't find any manufacturers. I want to be able to use it on the car when towing so that the car arrives as clean as when it left the garage. It's all right for you tin top guys - you got roofs and stuff, but getting in a cold soggy seat just before qualifying doesn't exactly help you go 11/10ths !

I know of a couple of places that do Custom fitted covers for trailer use. Price is around £500 +. They come and make a pattern to fit the car and then they go away and manufacture a one off cover!

Thanks Catman, sounds a bit pricey but worth looking into. Can you tell me who they are and how to contact them ? Reply here or mail me direct. TH

Trotter's Independant Traders. No job too small. Flat 34 Nelson Mandela House. Knock three times and tell them CATBLOKE sent you. ;)

Alfred Bull & Co Ltd
in Guildford. 01483 561897 .The guys brother was a FF man in the 70s and they make fitted covers for F1 teams and all sorts of classic cars. They made a great cover for my mates Porsches and another friends early 50s Aston Martin. There is another guy that does them as good as Bulls , but I will have to track him down through friends. He is cheaper but does not advertise.

Thanks guys,
Yeah I spoke to Dell the other day Peter and he said he could convert one of his market stall covers on his mum's old Singer, he also said he would do a good deal on the price, trouble was he insisted on having the initials of the company on the side of the cover, and well to be honest I didn't fancy turning up at Brands with "TIT" in foot high letters down the side of the car !
Catman, I rang Alfred Bull... Blimey £700+ for a cover and they couldn't start before June - that's half my racing budget ! I get the feeling they wern't too interested somehow. If you do come across that other number let me know. Cheers TH

Should be deleted then surely, whats the point unless it is that just maybe someone will stumble on it and ressurect it and then maybe someone will find some useful info from the more recent replies which is what I think has happened here. :-)

The thread may be 5 years old but I imagine there are often racers looking for car covers.
I am looking for one now . I want a cover for a single seater that I can use when towing on a trailer .
Any Ideas ? It doesn't want to be the type of plastic material used for lorry trailers as it will flap about and take the paint off., but it needs to be waterproof.

Sorry, new job etc. Only just seen this.

Try Thoroughbred Car Covers Ltd, 349 Kirkstall Road, Leeds. Tel: 01132 795079. Anthony Parker. If he has a cover for your model, just make sure that there are no mods to your car and what positions the mirrors are in. Mine cost just under £300 delivered and delivery was about 2/3 weeks.

Hope this helps.

I'm sure you will be pleased with it and if you're getting it measured there should be no problems.
He had details of an RF86, so I didn't get mine fitted and the mirror pockets were in the wrong place. Anthony was very good and offered to patch and relocate but I never got round to sending it back to him. I think I've left it a bit late now!
I'm glad I could help.
