Does anyone know of a driver who races Mark One Capri's - I'd love to watch that.

Francesca.

I know of at least three or four. David Thomas is possibly the best exponent and if you were at Mallory Park today you would have seen him in action.

I suggest you go to links and look at the Classic Saloon Car Club GB website, or my website for the calendar. Next is Lydden Hill 18th June followed by Thruxton 3rd July.

I will be at Thruxton so why not come and say hello?

BTW. I race a Mk3 Capri. http://ten-tenths.accelerator.org/ubb/wink.gif

A fellow in Queensland is currently building a Mk I Capri to race in our Historic Touring Car Championship. The car is nearly finished and will make its debut later this year.

Likewise my red RX7 #51 should be in the vacinity of Pete's Capri...at least in the Paddock...

As Pete says; come and say hello, we'll be close to the CSCC Bus which is a 30ft shoe box with white upper and red lower colour scheme.

Sadly, Bathurst in March 2001 never happened. :(

However, the chap building a Mk 1 Capri 3.0 V6 did get his car finished for the annual Historic race meeting. He is now building a similar car with 1600 Kent power for his wife to race.
