Team Xtreme has closed its doors after failing to secure the necessary funding to campaign next year with Airton Dare. Dare and his engineer Mark Weida are actively pursuing seats in the IRL, CART and other series. Dare posted 9 top ten finishes last year with a best 2nd place at Pike's Peak Raceway on way to finishing 10th in points.
Hope Dare finds a ride.
Not another one? You must be joking - the IRL is the affordable Indycar series.
This is crazy isnt it ???
I know sound people dont care but as Emfa said this is meant to be the cheaper version but teams are pulling out all over the place.
it seems american open wheel racing is in some serious trouble.
Oh no! The IRL is in serious trouble! It's going to die! It's closing its doors and failing! Doom and Gloom! Warning! Warning! Danger! Dan---oh, wait. Airton Dare is Brazilian, isn't he?
Never mind.
P.S. Personally I like Dare and hope he can find something in Champ Cars soon.
next record please Liz :)
How many Brand X teams have failed in the off season? Three so far, isn't it?

It's two bad the IRL has lost some teams, but with Blair and the two Penske entries coming on board, it all balances out for everyone except CART. At the rate teams, engine makers and circuits are bailing (not to mention threatening to bail), Tony George is surely having not only a really good laugh, but the well deserved last one as well.
if an IRL team dies im happy
why would you like that  - get over it :banghead:
