Wow, I like this game. It's so big and so much fun. Anyhow, there might be an absence of me from this forum, and all other ones I visit due to me playing this game. If you don't have it, you must get it!
I might to a review thing later, once I've had a good while playing it.

G-R, I'm sooo lucky! I managed to get it on 27th January! That's one day before official UK release! This was because I pre-ordered it! It is such a great game and also I will take a leave of absence to play it! :)

Well, if I hadn't have busted my PS - I would also be happily playing on GT2.
But one thing that unerves me...

In the original (possibly the most perfect game ever created) the visuals played a big part. The PC couldn't do it - or couldn't be bothered, it is a console title I reckon - and so it was all part of the realistic look and great feel it had.

I saw an ad earlier this evening - and I actually couldn't help laughing. I thought visuals were supposed to leap forward in quality? Not fall over backwards in the mud...

I cringed it look that bad - it look like a DC or PC title 15% (or less) complete. I'll be the first to agree that visuals aren't everything, but as I mentioned - GT has to Look good to be as great as it has been...
Roll on PSII Turismo....please put the PS out of its misery!! Seeing a dead body jerk about occasionally isn't a pretty site...Sony should be ashamed of themselves.

Still, the cars look and (I guess rightly so) feel like they're actually cornering better than any other car game - so on the ground of being excelent it can get off with it.

I was (hopefully still am) a GT master (EvolutionIV's the greatest car in the first game.Tuned and ready to skid. Set up properly) ..but with all the new exciting PS2 games, will I bother to get these `old` games?
No matter how good they are, could I be bothered (and afford it all...).

The visuals on the cars have gone up, and they look very nice.
But, the scenery doesn't look as good as it did. Not to say it looks bad, not at all, but it's just a little different feeling to the background than the 1st.
All up, I think this game is the limit for the PSX in terms of graphics.
But for the game it self, it's very good. Like I said, it's a must get :)

Actually, after watching my brother play, I took notice of the track and background. I take back the my previous opinion, and I'm gonna now say that the background visuals are better than in GT1. It's just a different fell to the first.

Star Car?

The Cusco Subaru Impreza is magnificent. Although only 2WD and 400Hp, it handles like a dream. Can beat anything.

I hear a song by the Specials playing in the background of this forum.. "..this town..."
Accompanied by the rustling of leaves, and squeeking rotten hinges..
Where have all the gamers gone?
It's getting scary in here..
"...like a ghostown....."

GT2?

I have the game, and I have to ask the developers why they actually bothered with it.

The background visuals are in general poor, and the car graphics have not improved at all. The racing is too difficult - I struggled to win the bloody Sunday Cup in a flippin' Nissan Primera. The music is terrible. But the worst thing is that it simply hasn't moved on at all from the original - so what if there are more tracks and more cars? Can you really be bothered?

If you don't have GT1, then get this. Otherwise, don't waste your pennies.

Minardi fan, do you have a NTSC or PAL version of GT2?
The PAL version runs at full screen, and since PAL TV's have higher resolution than NTSC one's, it mean's that it looks prettier for PALers :)

I have the PAL version.

Since it's so **** I'm actually going to trade it in and get £20 off Theme Park World at the end of March.

DON'T BOTHER WITH GT2.

It's amazing ne1 who has just bought GT2 can find time to surf the 'net, let alone post on forums :D
I bought the game on release day (UK) and still spend at least 10 hours a day on it.
I've just completed the Trial Mountain endurance race (ne1 beat 52 mins) and still have tons to do, so I'll stop now.
Btw, has ne1 completed the Super license yet as I am finding it hard with ne tests other than no1 and the 2 dirt tests!
PS If ne1 is interested the intro is video footage of PS2 GT2000

does ne1 get sick of people who use ne1 for anyone? I do. I also hat 'u r' for you're. It's just plain lazyness.

nehow ( ;)) I can't remember but I think I was faster around the trial mountain enduro, but I'm not sure.
As for the super license, they're pretty easy. Just stay on track really.
