If anyone has any information on auto racing during the 1920's I would greatly appritiate it.

All I know about then for certain was the start of the Le Mans 24 hours. I havent got much info to hand but there are plenty of people here that should be able to help you out.

A few more specifics in the question would help Planeboy!

Are you looking for info re American, British or European racing? Those are three distinct subjects you see .... and then of course there was Australia, but Ray Bell's your man there:)

Unfortunately, they are so specialised that the print runs were short and their current values are frightening. If I can come up with some titles, I'll post them up for you. You never know - you might strike lucky.

You can even find the full race results on the stats channel of http://www.motorsport.com - they are not perfect to the detail, but a very good starting point! :up:

Try get the Dick Wallen book "Guts, Gold and Glory", a VERY good book on the boards era, and still freely available, afaik.

Don't know if THE ROARING TWENTIES, An ALBUM OF EARLY MOTOR RACING by Cyril Posthumus is still available. It's a very interesting book...It was first published in the UK in 1980.

I don't think the Posthumus book had much US content however

Actually, for 1920s racing in Australia, Barry Lake, John Medley and Graham Howard are the boys...

Or you could stop in at the nursing home and ask the sole survivor, Ken McKinney, he still remembers it...
