Powertour at Donington

Is anyone else planning on heading along to Donington on Sunday for the Powertour? I think that me, Woody and Craig will be heading along there, so does anyone else fancy meeting up with us?

Count us in - it'll be our first Powertour meeting, so I don't quite know what to expect. Hope John Cleland's car has been repaired though.

Good grief! I just realised it's 3 weeks since I went to a motor race. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms.

Yep. I think I'll be there. Where do you good people like to spectate at Donington?

Apart from on the tellys in the Redgate Lodge bar, that is....

Normally on the outside of the Old Hairpin and of course Redgate Lodge is the ideal place to meet up :)

Does anyone have a timetable for Donington (preferably Saturday and Sunday)? The Powertour website isn't updated anywhere near often enough, and, frustratingly, doesn't have a webmaster's contact address to write to and complain.

I was looking for a timetable as well, but haven't found one. Doesn't help that the Donington website appears to be down at the moment. If this helps at all, racing at Oulton started at 9:30 and then 11:30 for pitlane walkabout. Main Powertour races then started lining up on the grid at 12:30. I'd presume Donington would be something similar with one of the Powertour's aims being to run with set start and finish times. If I find out more I'll let you know.

Just 5 races and to think I was saying how the Powertour had got it's act together at Oulton. Lets hope this is a one off because Donington has double headers for the F3 and the first F3 race is on Saturday, so maybe they felt that is the F3 was racing on Saturday then they needed some other races then as well. And where's our Mini's gone :(
What do you reckon, shall we all meet at 10:30 in Redgate Lodge.

Not a bad day, all in all - the PowerTour idea still needs some tweaking though - the first race being at 1pm just doesn't cut the mustard, i'm afraid. The racing is good though, so it's worth the effort in going if you dont mind spending 15 squid for a half a days racing...

As for today, not bad. Met up with Tim (good to meet you, sir) Carrie, Maisie and Chris. Lorna and Woody were too lazy to come along :( And discovered the delights of parking at Starkeys. Even managed to find a shortcut home which lopped 1/2 hour off the journey - can't be bad!

ALMS is next on the agenda... see you there ?

Indeed, a splendid day out - even if the last time I was at Donington (HSCC) we got twice the racing at half the price!

Excellent, excellent company - it's always good to see Maisie and Chris, and I am delighted to have met Craig and Carrie after all this time. Did you know that the creator of this wonderful site also cooks a tasty burger? True!

And even the occasional rain shower had its positive moments. We were perfectly placed to see Pizzonia spin a real gilhooly on the parade lap.

I won't be able to do ALMS, I'm afraid. Going to be cheering on the Mallett-mobile at Brands Hatch that day.

A final happy thought for the day...
