I think this new 'Group C' series has been mentioned a couple of times here already. Picked up some details at today's BTCC launch.

Brands Hatch GP (31 Mar - 1 Apr)
Silverstone (1/2/3 Jun)
Snetterton (27/28 Jul)
Donington Park (20/21/22 Sep)

Provisional entry list for Brands
Chevron B60
ALD C2
Chevron B63
Aston Martin EMKA
Aston Martin Nimrod
Aston Martin EMKA
Aston Martin AMR-1
Jaguar XJR12
Jaguar XJR5
Jaguar XJR6
Jaguar XJR10
Tiga GC287
Nissan GTP
Spice
Prosport LM3000
Spice SE85C
Spice
GT7000

One or two I'm not that familiar with but looks promising.

Can't wait!

How many entries was it they said they received for the historic touring car races they're doing ? 73 ? 76 was it ? Wahey!

I think one or two of them Spices should be a Se90 Group C1 car.

Should be a good race, just a bit of a shame they race last thing on the two days.

What about the GT7000? What car is it?

GT7000 was one of the ones I have no idea about, Driver is David Ellis if that helps anyone.

I think this is the GT7000, I think it was initally designed to race in the British GT's.

Worth the entry price just to see those Jags (and the AMR-1) again!!

Did the AMR-1 run at Brands in 89? if so then it was the noise that was luverly.

I don't know for sure, it certainly ran at Dijon and Le Mans of course, but other than that I'd have to get the record books out.

I know an Aston did run at Brands in 89 (it was just which model I was unsure of)
David Leslie was one of the drivers and I'm sure they got it up to 3rd behind 2 Mercs (I've got highlights on tape somewhere, I'll give it a wee look tonight)
What are the chances of Proton letting him drive a real car?

ok bit of checking later, and there's not much out there, it seems it was the AMR1 in 89 and it finished 4th (it's best result).
Thanks to michael fuller at this site (http://www.mulsannecorner.com/aston.htm). and
another great anorak's site (http://wspr-racing.com/results/results.html) for the drivers that day - David Leslie and Brian Redman.
behind the
Baldi/Acheson Sauber C9 (which nearly hit me that day)
Wollek/Jellinski 962
Schlesser/Mass C9

No Porsches at all then? Thats a bit disappointing but still a good field in any case.
