Noticing that today marks 20 years since Carlos Reutemann's last Grand Prix start, I was thinking back to old "Lole" and the legacy he's remembered by.
These days, he is characterised as a man driven by temperament, who allowed his judgement to be coloured by the mood he was in at any given moment, and thus made slip-ups which stopped him achieving his potential.
He could have been World Champion in at least one season, but for out-psyching himself. He also did himself no favours with moves such as the infamous Williams 2-1 victory, when he determinedly failed to make way for Alan Jones.
I wonder if anyone has any Reutemann stories, and indeed, if there are any other candidates for the dubious honour of being the driver with the most spectacular off-days...?
