F1 World Grand Prix.

I just bought F1 World Grand Prix from Eidos.
It's based on the 1999 season, with real teams and real drivers names.
At the moment I haven't played it enough to give a full review, but my first impressions are good.
The game is very detailed and there's one thing I would like to mention.
There are many different camera views.
One of them is a camera on the nose of the car, looking at the drivers helmet.
Through the helmet's visor you see the drivers face.
And here's something I have never seen in any other game.
The drivers look exactly the way they look in real life.
You can clearly recognize Mika Hakkinen, Frentzen, Coulthard and any of the other drivers.
Very well done.
Also, each car has it's own distinctive engine sound.
As soon as I get a little more familiar with the game, I will post my impressions.

Do you have the PC version???

I had the Playstation version which was good, but let down by a shocking framerate and a really mean damage system.

However, if it is any good on the PC I would like to get it as it was a decent enough F1 sim, and had lots of elements in which F1 games tend to leave out.

Yes, I have the PC version.

And if you want all the bells and whistles that are in the game you better get yourself a mighty fast computer.
But, you do have the option to set the game to your computer's possibilities.

Another nice option in the game is that you can set the lateral g-forces and the way the driver's head is moving in the corners.
So, it's not a static picture whenever you're driving in cockpit view.
There's also an option to race in cockpit view and see things as if you were waring a helmet.
This means you have a limited view and can experience the race the same way a driver does.
Marvellous game!

Yeah, they implemented all that stuff in the Playstation version, but because of the dire frame rate it REALLY suffered.

If it's good on the PC tho, I'll go get it.

Although seeing Marc Gene's face through the helmet was coooooooooool.
