I'm trying to find information on Chris Irwin. He drove in I think 10 Grand Prix from 1966-1967. His career ended with a huge crash while practiceing for the Nurburgring 1000K in 1968 in a Ford F3L.
Other then that, I have not been able to find much information on this forgotten racer. If anybody could please enlighten me with any more information and or stories/memories of this man, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,

Chris Irwin drove the Parnell Lotus 33 R13 in four races in 1967, powered by the BRM P56 engine. Best result was 4th in the Syracuse GP at Enna.
In the pages http://www.nurburgring.de , (Fotos, Historie, 1000km 1968) you actually find some private pictures, never published in any magazine, of the badly crashed Ford F3L.

Thanks to the 4 of you that have replied to my question. I wish more people would reply, but you take what you can get. That is a great Nurburgring site by the way!
In regards to the other site that was kind of a where are they now site, it says that Irwin is still unable to work and that it took some time to recover? So I guess the sad question I'm asking here is did the poor guy suffer some kind of brain damage or mental handycap from the crash? I don't want to sound crude or anything, I'm just wondering?
Thanks again to those who responded, and hopefully more people will respond in the future.
Thanks,

A massive crash in 1968 led to him suffering injuries which he took many, many years to recover from. He is now better but unable to work as he is still affected & so is now retired. (Richard Jenkins)Forix.com
An outstanding product of the British 1-liter Formula 3 scene and a close contemporary of Piers Courage, Irwin made his Formula 1 debut in a works 2.5-liter Climax-engined Brabham in the 1966 British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch where he finished seventh. His fine fifth place in the following year's French Grand Prix at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit represented one of the troublesome H-16 BRM's few top six finishes. Irwin was badly injured when his Ford F3L sports car somersaulted during practice for the 1968 Nurburgring 1000km race and he never raced again.
