Austin A 35 racing

Do any of you have any pic,s of Austin A 35,s racing ?

What a great topic idea - I love "peanuts" and I'd love to see some pics of them in action!

I've got some, but goodness only knows where they are.

Funnily enough, the son of a neighbour of mine used to race a bright red one - but I'm now going back at least 15-16 years. I deliberately took some photos of it at Brands for him. I'm sure I kept a set. But don't hold your breath, it could take me a very long time to find them!

2 raced at Goodwod and one was sold at the Coys auction last week for a whopping £18 500, not bad for a car without FIA papers and probably only eligible for Goodwood and Julius Thugood's Oldies but Goldies series!! hopefully historic saloons are on the up!!

There are still a few in the CTCRC but try getting them out to play?

£18 500 . . . .bloody hell . . .thats a lot for the district nurses run about . . . .was it the green one J.O. drove to third? I think it had a Carlos Fandango A series mini engine in it . . . . definitely a whisker more than the 30 odd they scream out as standard ;)

This little beauty was at the Mondello Park TOCA meeting in June.

Not an expression I often use for cars, but that's a very pretty little motor, isn't it?

It got such a cheer too, and the commentators loved it! It really was absolutely immaculate. I spent several happy minutes drooling all over it in the paddock :)

I can remember, was it John Sprinzel and Graham Hill, getting the A35s on two wheels out of the the Goodwood chicane, back in the early sixties. I think.
Do I also remeber Doc Merfield coming down the final part of the Lavant Straight on his roof? Think so.

The pretty Speedwell A35 was racing with us at Snetterton at the last Top Hat / H+H meeting of the year. We were a little too busy then to take any photos...

But here are a couple from Donington earlier in the year. Again it's the Top Hat series, and we'll be posting a complete gallery from this event at some point over Christmas
