I was saddened to read in Autosport today that Forum member and great club racing photographer Fred Scatley died on December 27th at an age of 63. Fred has been around the circuits as long as I can remember and his photos have often helped me with my paintings as reference.
Fred posted many of his great photos in these historic threads. It was a pleasure to post a pic and wait for his response - always stunning photography. It is evident from his work that he was a true enthusiast.
RIP Fred. I for one will go back through the old 60s club racing threads to take another look at your work.

I have two photos taken by Fred, some 14 years apart, myself at brands, my son at snett. both are on the wall of my lounge ,both treasured items, sad news. His work was always good.
I'm so sorry to hear this. Genuinely shocked. In the brief time we've had Fred here, he's been a pleasure to know.
Lucky are his friends who knew him longer. I wish I'd known him better.

What a great shame. Wonder if we could collate his pics (those that he posted) and post them in a separate thread?
Would be a nice reminder for those of us who only knew him briefly.

I could not agree more with Peter regarding a separate thread dedicated to Fred's work that had previously been posted here. I think it would be a fitting tribute to a very talented man. I will miss those pictures and always looked forward to them.
RIP Fred and thank you.

What a great shame. RIP Fred. Enjoyed very much the pics and associated threads.
Really sad news. I have many Scatley prints and they'd all be relavent to matters aired on this board. RIP Fred. I do hope we do have a 'rememberence' slot.

I've tried to set up a thread containing posts by Fred himself of his photographs but have been unsuccessful so far.
I'll keep trying though!
I'll see what I can do. I too like the idea of a remembrance thread of Fred's work.
I think I've done it. Please check the thread "Remembering Fred Scatley" for some truly wonderful pictures.
What sad news, and a blow to this forum - Fred seemed to have a photo for every occasion. Thank you Tim for setting up the thread of his pictures, it is a fitting tribute.
