Audi RS6, Mk2 A.C. Cobra and Chevron B8 for trackdays :) :rotate:

Come on then you lot, lets play fantasy garage. Forget the money, what car would you have in your garage and why!
I`ll start the engine running, I would have a Caterham superlight R500..I`ve been driven round a track or two in one with a quick driver and it just blows your mind...it also hwps with any movement problems you may have!. Whats your choice?

Gizmo
4 Mar 2003, 19:16
Doesn`t help with the spelling either...still shaking after the last run!

Probably headed by the Tuscan R...
An Audi RS4 for when I had to do family duties as well...

neilwaynesmith
5 Mar 2003, 08:52
Audi RS6, preferably modified by Abt for the Road:)
Mk2 AC Cobra for the two or three sunny days a year :) :)
CHEVRON B8 for trackdays :) :rotate:

5 Mar 2003, 09:22
A 57' Chevy Bel Air for road use (most gorgeous car of the 50's IMO)

Family car - hmm, nothing that really appeals to me, maybe one of those wierd Fiat people carriers.

Track days? Gotta be a TVR, either a Cerbera or a Tuscan R

And for a full blown race car - I have a thing about the Panoz LMP-1. Totally impractical but I love that engine note.....

Gizmo
5 Mar 2003, 18:57

Super Turbo Chevy Truck Dual Kit. It's been tweaked a little !! :p

Steve Tarrant
5 Mar 2003, 23:36
For me, it would have to be an AC Cobra, with a big lump V8, side exhausts and all the noise and smoke you can imagine.

Regrettably, imagine is all I will ever be able to do ..................... but it's fun doing so!

For my fun car I'd have a mint 1972 Mk11 Midget like this one please:

Midget (http://www.mgcars.org.uk/pics/zacmgb01.jpg)

contenders for my race car would be either a Mk1 Midget, a Mk1 Cortina or an Anglia....

in my dreams I shall drive a ex Le Mans MG-Lola or a Sunbeam Tiger Le Mans....well it is a dream...

Driving past a local car dealer today, they had for sale in there a Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (1969), and one of the early 80s Pontiac Trasam's (Like off Nightrider). I have to get one of those two.......pity about my bank balance.

For tarmac rallies Metro 6R4
For gravel rallies Subaru WRC
For historic rallies Escort Mk1 TC
For the road latest mercedes van with Brian James top of range trailer.

gfm
6 Mar 2003, 18:41
So Alpina - what's your favourite to compete in and why, if we may enquire?

Alpina
7 Mar 2003, 10:52
Hard to say gfm as the only one of the above I have driven is the transit!
I have had three Mk1 Escorts and still have a Mexico which is so much fun but not very fast. I have driven a few Imprezas and they are fun in a different way. The 6R4s just keep passing me on the stages and they sound so good.
Aaaaaahhh
