1. crompton sacked from ford tickford racing - fact.
2. lowndes to k-mart racing, murphy gone - ?
3. bargwanna to holden racing team - ?
4. dont forget stone brothers, hopefully perkins retires -
spare seats galore for 2001, this is what v8's need, lots of driver changes, should be great reading over the next couple of months....
Crash Test 25 Sep 2000, 14:09 The only empty seat at the moment is at FTR....and really i dont think there is any use speculating who is going to be there until it is signed...
then again there will/might be spare seats created at:
CAT
Weel
Paragon
McLean
Larko
Jones
.....
Hmmmm....where does WW fit in?;)

Hmmm... that would be alongside Skaifey at HRT, wouldn't it?:)
So it's now official, is it, that Cromley's been 'removed' from FTR? Obviously not having seen so much of the year's races, I'm no judge, but is it a lack of speed thing, or more lack of luck?
Crash Test 26 Sep 2000, 00:19 Speed -my grand mother drives faster than him....
elephino 26 Sep 2000, 04:56 Crompton is gone from FTR but no one knows where to. He might even team up again with Forbes in a Commodore (not Rodney, just remember the old GIO GT-R).
Lowndes place is still up in the air and nothing will happen until that is decided really. The most likely is Lowndes to K-Mart and Murphy to FTR. Doesn't mean it will happen though.
Crash Test 26 Sep 2000, 06:15 Lowndes:
HRT- he hasn't said that he is leaving
DJR- a lot of people say that he could get a ride there, and shell would be one of the only teams who could afford him without asking Ford for a loan.
SBR- Tony Longurst has been rumoured to be "retiring"...although since he sort of runs the show, could be hard to believe.
K-Mart- If Motorsport News runs it on the front cover, they probably know more than we know...
SBR- They have Besnard, but what about Longhurst and Baird? Baird is supposed to be in trouble, like crompton is...Apparently Wills might also be a chance there...
K-Mart- Stable team with two competent drivers....but if Murphhas to go, Murph has to go...
CAT- I heard a while ago that Gary Brabham was confirmed next to Bowe for next season...but who knows, a day is a long time in motorsport.
Perkins- Should stay the same.
BJR- 2nd car? They wouldn't have a franchise so they shouldn't need a second car.
Larkham- Larko does have a franchise, so they should have a second car....i have a feeling he would go for someone young..
Faulkner- Has budget for 1.75 cars, for himself and Macrow..
FTR- Has a spare seat...Lowndes, Wakefield, someone young, someone from left field?
GRM- Should stay the same....but rumours are that one of Bargs or Tander could fill a seat at HRT...
Paragon- McLean and anyone else?
McLean- Salmon and White still?
Ultratune- 2 cars for next season, filled.
Team Kiwi- Same as Ultratune
Nash- Should stay the same, but McCoville has factory links..
Toll- They have a second car there waiting to be driven...
Why has there been so much rumous and BS this silly season?? Because there is nothing much happening on track. I know i've said this many tims before, but the racing is so competitive its boring....
Oh well, roll on Sandown!!:)

Surely, but surely, you're not speaking of old Bobby Forbes?!

I haven't been keeping up with the V8s, obviously; what's the deal with this, then?
Danielsun 26 Sep 2000, 20:40 I just realised something else: Mitre 10 has a spare seat. Alain Menu is driving with Mark Larkham at Bathurst. Alain Menu is looking at a full-time drive in Australia. Oh, God no!
That's just another one of them there rumours, I hope...
Crash Test 27 Sep 2000, 00:37 Larko's spare seat is still in a million pieces after Oran Park...
John McLean sold out his interest in the team, and has goen it alone to look after Rod Salmon, in a new AU which was debuted at the 500. Old man McLean kept the Banyo workshops. Paragon is a new team, also based on the north side, which has put McLean's ex-Weel AU on the market and is building a new car for next season. They wont run at Bathurst because Cameron will be with DJR.
Danielsun 27 Sep 2000, 16:07 Just like the Richards family: they're out there to beat each other, then, are they?
So Larko's been running a new car since the disaster at Oran Park, has he? I noticed the pics on the V8 Supercar website; Morris has a VT at last! So where'd that come from? Ex-HRT or is it one his team was building?
Crash Test 28 Sep 2000, 00:24 Ex-Poole, their team has folded...
elephino 28 Sep 2000, 13:18 Yes I am Dan.
They turned that Mitre 10 car from nothing to racing extremely quickly.
Danielsun 29 Sep 2000, 19:21 What an incredible job, that being the case - you can't say that the Mitre 10 team is not a topline one any more...
elephino 30 Sep 2000, 09:13 Don't know about anyone else, but I never said they weren't a topline team. If you'd seen what they had done in FHolden you wouldn't either.
Danielsun 30 Sep 2000, 11:22 I'm saying that was generally the way the team was regarded in its earlier seasons in V8 Supercars. Maybe it was just that they were always having to rebuild the car after another driver stuffed Mark into a barrier somewhere...
It's great to see him finally get some real success - and it's certainly one of the fastest cars - as well as fastest driven - out on the track, round to round.
I belive that Brad Jones does have a Franchise. Didn't he buy it from Longhurst along with the car?
Crash Test 5 Oct 2000, 13:37 Hmmm...good point...
What will he do then? Form some sort of strange alliance with an existing team? Mezera?
montoya 10 Oct 2000, 06:50 Hey!
Crompton was not sacked!! He resigned!!
Seeya!
Crash Test 10 Oct 2000, 13:06 Sure they didn't say "you're sacked", but saying "we had nothing to offer him for next season", ie no car, no money, no scooby snacks, it wasn't as if he walked out....im not sure anyone would walk out of a factory team drive because they are unhappy with their own performance....although will Lowndesy just plain walk?
