OK, someone I know owns a 944S2 and a BMW M6 (lucky whatsit!). He bought the 944 to go to work, but doesn't need it anymore (he says). The M6 has required a great deal of money, but has now been restored to impressive full-health.
He now has a dilemma. Should he:
a) Sell the Porsche and keep the M6 (to get his money's-worth).
b) Sell the M6 and keep the 944.
c) Sell them both and put the money towards an M Coupe.
d) Sell them both and put the money towards a DBS Aston as he's always longed for an Aston Martin (even though this would be slower!).
Other info that may be handy is that:
- He has a family of 4 (though his old E12 M535i, currently being restored, should cater for that).
- His wife and youngest prefers the Porsche, his oldest the M6?
- He doesn't know I'm asking you guys (yet)!
So, opinions please

Aysedasi 8 Oct 2003, 14:14 Give me the Aston any day....... ;)
Oh to have such trifling dilemmas in one's life..... ;):)
AdamAshmore 8 Oct 2003, 15:28 It's between selling both and getting the Aston or keeping the Porsche.
Dani Filth 8 Oct 2003, 19:02 get the aston . by far .. :)
Bluebottle 8 Oct 2003, 21:39 So it's going to be the DBS then? ;)
I have the solution give me both cars and then he won't have to worry about which one to keep or if he should buy an Aston.
I'm happy He's happy,
Its a great big happy world.
Don't think he'd go for that somehow!
Thanks for the comments. :)
Any more?
John Turner 9 Oct 2003, 22:20 Is this DBS the original 6 cylinder or the later V8?
I thought that it would be the 6, thought the 8 would be preferable!
944turbo 10 Oct 2003, 00:41 Keep the wife happy. He'll regret losing that Porsche the day it's gone. ;)

Would this be your dad's car then?
As much as I love Porsches if he has a hankering for an Aston then tell him to go for it.
944. Front engine, only four cylinders. Not a real Porsche is it? ;)
Keep the M6 (it's a modern classic), save up for the Aston. Or a 911.

Might be! ;)
Oh, and it IS the V8 he was looking at.
Aston Martin every time. I've tried one, even in six cylinder form, it's a lovely drive and was quite capable of hassling a BMW M3 Coupe out of the way when required. (Never done that in any other car!)
How can I put it? The Aston Martin has a presence which the others just can't supply.
The interior will be at least on a par with the German car too and the later the car, the more comfortable it will be.
i got a m3 evo 3.2 and it's ok but would love the DB
Sounds like the Aston then, though I personally like garcon's idea!

It's good-looking, it's got a rear seat only a toddler could use, it was built in a real Porsche factory by real Porsche personel... It goes like stink, stops on a dime, and corners in a smooth, beautiful drift.
Oh yeah, it's a Porsche alright. ;)
Just teasing. Never been out in a 944 Turbo, but they're certainly a quick car. A friend had a 968 Club Sport a while back - that was absolutely stunning! :) He's now got a 993 RS (modded). 'Narrow' body, normally aspirated, 2wd, 420 bhp. Handles and goes like a big go-kart with a nos kit. And bites like a psychopathic tiger if you let the back end go... THAT is a Porsche! ;)
Oh yeah - it's black and they call it The Widowmaker...
