Tell us, in 25 words or less that what the mechanics in the
photograph above are looking for in the engine bay of the
Toyota Camry?
-My answer is- The Engine...
Someone aught to tell Toca that its a carina....
.....Talk about taking the **** out of yourself!!:)
Buckshot 9 Oct 2000, 08:30 I reckon they're looking for another four cylinders.
Cheers Buck.
Danielsun 9 Oct 2000, 22:10 Dunno what they could be looking for under the bonnet, but if they looked inside Mr Rea's head, they'd likely not find anything!
If the guys all turn around, they'll see South Park's Kenny in the flesh...:p
Crash Test 10 Oct 2000, 02:08 Buckshot- what, to add to the two already in the engine?;)
This would be a very unlikely death sequence for Kenny....being run over by Mal as he tears away from his pit box in a cloud of tyre smoke:)
Danielsun 11 Oct 2000, 20:54 It would be in a cloud of smoke, but the smoke would probably be coming from under the bonnet rather than the wheel arches...
Buckshot 20 Oct 2000, 09:27 "I hope NRMA Road Service gets here soon..."
Anyone going to Wakefield Park next weekend ?
Cheers Buck.
Crash Test 20 Oct 2000, 10:04 Elephino, and possibly a gate keeper to count him 5,376 times as he walks in....
elephino 21 Oct 2000, 09:25 Yep, I'm going...all 5,376 of me.
Caption:
"Anyone know what this metal thing in here is?"
P1: "What happens if I do this? <snap> Oh no, I broke it"
P2: "No one will notice"
To answer their question in 25 words or less...
They are looking for the spectators, I mean spectator...well me really.
Danielsun 25 Oct 2000, 17:24 The tracks really should do the Entertainment Centre thing: make all the seats different colours, so as to make it look - as the cars drive by - like there are loads of spectators...
Crash Test 26 Oct 2000, 00:07 Don't you remember the 500 last year at Bathurst....they had virtual billboards to cover up the virtually empty paddock...now they can't even afford to do that....
Danielsun 26 Oct 2000, 13:28 Yes, sadly I do remember that. Did you see them from where you were standing, elephino?;) If you were watching TV like the rest of us, you would have; it was more interesting than the race...
AMoffat 26 Oct 2000, 13:32 Great guys, just great,
"where the only car on the grid with everybody wanting to emmigrate to Australia to watch neighbours and drive in the V8 series and we still can't get this piece of s##t to idle"
elephino 26 Oct 2000, 14:24 I thought of another caption...
"As all the spectators crowd around the Carina to lend a helping hand...."
Danielsun 28 Oct 2000, 13:16 So, ah, which one are you, elephino? You're the only regular spectator at ASTC rounds, aren't you?;)
AMoffat 28 Oct 2000, 13:56 Or,
"Christ, where are the other four cylinders. Ok, no one panick, James you start counting and Thomas you take the socks of your left foot"
I mean why bother, the Brits should by now see the light
Danielsun 29 Oct 2000, 00:31 Moffat, didn't you commentate on the Super Tourers last year?;)
Give it a rest and go tell that rubbish to the V8 fan clubs; they'll listen to you. May I remind you that I am from Oz (God, how many times the Poms have reminded me this past five months!:p) and I've seen both V8 Supercars and Super Tourers at their very best.
In terms of all-out excitement, nothing is a patch on the biff'n'barge nature of Super Touring in the early- and mid- 1990s. If you don't agree, get a BTCC season review from around 1995 (Invader likes that year for some reason) and see for yourself...
Bring on Bathurst and we'll see what sort of a show the V8s can put on. I'm waiting with baited breath.
AMoffat 29 Oct 2000, 08:07 Arrh Danielsun,
I did indeed commentate on the Super Tourers in Australia (as an Aussie you would know this). The problem was I was sacked for a) making intelligent comments, b) falling asleep in races due to the excitement factor.
Now don't get me wrong if I want to see a destruction derby I'll go to the speedway. But as far as I know the BTCC is no longer receiving airplay in Australia. I do agree the mid nineties stuff was good.
Daniel, one last question, why does an Aussie have to stick up for the Poms, can't they organise themselves to defend their own series?
Danielsun 29 Oct 2000, 18:52 I would never stick up for this lot of Poms! Not in a million years...;)
I say that because I honestly believe it. Do I need more reason?
