After being reminded of Can-Am & Thundersports racing, I got to wondering about the history of the Lola`s used in these series.
Also who was behind the VDS bodywork??
So any info or web site/book idea`s would be welcome.

VDS used T333CS Lola in 1977 and retained them for 1978 and 1979, trying a Riley body on one of them in 1979. They then bought a pair of new T530 Lola for 1980 and modified them through the season with the help of Tony Cicale. Cicale then designed a completely new body which was combined with a modified T530 tub in 1981 to create the VDS 001.
Subsequently, VDS built two more cars (VDS 002 and VDS 003) before folding. An incomplete fourth car was built up by the team that bought their assets.
John Foulston drove an ex-Haas T530 in Thundersports and then claimed to have put VDS bodywork on it. It now looks more likely that he went back to the US and bought one of the VDS car, probably VDS 001 from Jerry Hansen.
