Sorry I'm late Will..Happy Birthday!SPARK Msport 3 Mar 2004, 22:37 On March 2nd Will Hoy BTCC's Champion would had been 54 years old that very day. Sadly Will past away a few years ago. Although he is gone, he is never forgotten. Ian Smith 2 Apr 2004, 22:09 Hear - Hear Spark Will was one of the real good guys, One of my prized possesions is a poster with a personal message from Will sent to me in 1997 when I was in Hospital. This is one person who will never forget the wit, charm & sheer guts of the man. Sheila M 2 Apr 2004, 22:29 One of my best memories of Will is from Oulton Park a few years ago, when we used to have the drivers forums the day before the BTCC race. A crowd of us had gathered in the bar (like you do) for the forum, which if I remember correctly consisted of Will, Robb Gravett and John Cleland. After the inevitable question and answer session finished, Will said he would like to ask a question of his own. Permission was duly granted. Will's question was how "Knicker Brook" got its name. Several people in the audience put their hands up (mine was held aloft by several so-called "friends"). Will then decided that he would like the lady (i.e. me) to answer the question. It was at this point that I realised that Will already knew the answer, having heard Blaster Bates' version for himself. However, the bugger made made tell it in front of a packed bar anyway!! Took me years to forgive him. RIP Will:angel: |
