I am seeking info or whereabouts of Ed Marshall, who was a prominent SCCA racer in the States in the mid to late 60's, who drove many varied race cars. I am doing research on a car he may have driven in that period and I would like to track him down if he is still around. I believe that he lived in the Northwest, possibly in Oregon, and may have owned a car or motorcycle dealship. Any leads or info on this fellow appreciated.

I've never heard of him but you might try Mike Gent in Newberg, Or. I spoke with him last year about vintage race car restoration. I understand he's been around the sport a while - He might be able to help you. <<www.sharkshifter.com>> or <<mike@sharkshifter.com>>. HTH.

Interesting chap. In the late sixties and early seventies he drove, amongst other things:

A Formula A 2.7-litre Lotus 35-Climax FPF (Colorado Grand Prix, Continental Divide 14 May 1967).

An Alexis-Ford (Did not start at War Bonnet Continental Race, War Bonnet 25 June 1967).

A Formula B LeGrand Mk 3B-Ford (Lake Tahoe Continental Race, Lake Tahoe 1 October 1967)

A Formula A 2.5-litre Cooper T51 [F2-14-60]-Ferrari 625LM 4 (Ken Miles Memorial Race, Laguna Seca 12 October 1968)

A Formula 5000 Marshall-Chevrolet V8 (Seafair "200", Seattle 7 August 1971)

If he was based in the NW, then I'd suggest asking Pete Lovely or Butch Dennison at Pete Lovely Racing (12026 30th St E, Edgewood, WA, 98372-2496; (253) 863-8301) or Thor Thorson or Byron Sanborn at Vintage Racing Motors (9255 151st Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052-3511; (425) 869-8112).

Let me know how you get on.

Allen

Thanks for the info guys, I will follow up those leads, and post if I find anything. An interesting fellow indeed.... I am interested in the Alexis he drove. I have one believed to be a 67 F2 MK 8. Picture of the car in progress at:
