Chris Yates, better known as "Chris Y" on the forum, took his first competitive start today at Brands Hatch. He was racing a Mini Seven. Perhaps he'd like to pop in and tell us about it?;)

Thanks Peter ;)

I've been a bit busy recently with work, but I'll try to scribble down some of my experiences, and probably post them on ParcFerme. Then I'll let you all know when it's ready :)

It's been an hour now and still no report..... ;)

We would still like to hear about it in Trackside. Being a non racer and more of a spectator, I don't come here much, in fact, I think this is my first posting in the Racer's Forum! Been in a Lotus Elise for a day but's that it... so... spill the beans, Chris, we want all the gory details :D

Maybe you should have made the effort to come along then Lornykins...! :p

Well done Chris on a sensible approach to the day - not a single off all weekend - and in changeable weather conditions too... wet as hell on Saturday, dry on Sunday.

Keep it up and you'll son start rising up the grid.

But I'm not a racer...... I have to learn all the stuff in the technical forum first.... :rotate:

Oh am I jealous Lorna - an Elise my favourite. As Chris won't participate - go on tell all.

It was a birthday present. I got my own instructor. His name was Chris and I made him blush at the end when I gave him a kiss on the cheek! Les, it was awesome! So good, I wrote an article for Parc Ferme..... :)

Meanwhile, back on the subject of the Chris, can someone who when (Craig, Dan, TimD??) at least tell us briefly how he got on position, etc?? Ta!

Qualified and finished flat last, but kept it on the track in atrocious conditions! The photos are back from the developers, and when we get home tonight, I'll make damn sure he finishes his race report, which although only half-done so far promises to be a weighty effort!

We went to see a man about a Mighty Mini yesterday - it gets delivered tomorrow :) :) :)

Perhaps you'd like to use some of mine for the article:

I have read the article and feel like I was there myself. Excellent, Chris. As long as it was, it made extremely good reading. Now.... how do you start the mini again?....

Thanks Lorny - the cheque is in the post :D

At least my Mighty Mini has a key to start it instead of a windscreen wiper button ;)

Hehe. Regardless of how sarcastic I can be. I will refrain from commenting on that
