Fish_Flake 10 Oct 2004, 16:49 I'm tied for last with 5 points...I hope everyone else was just that good, and not the other way around this time.
Kicking-back 10 Oct 2004, 18:12 Damn! Forgot to enter this round!
Ralf Fan:
Thanks for your propmt tally of this round.
I'll post my predictions for Interlagos by 5:00 am (UK Time)the Thursday before the race.
I'm suggesting this in the interest of fairness since it would be easy (and wrong) just to copy Don K's predictions and secure the lead and on the other hand, I wouldn't want to change mine just to give a different prediction.
I believe I should therefore post first and give the others a fair shot at winning.
This way everyone else would have Thursday before the race to post their predictions.
This will avoid the trouble of posting by private message, etc, etc.
By the way, Mirwin and NickF1 are not that far behind us. They could reasonably take it home.
Comments, suggestions??
RT
ralf fan 10 Oct 2004, 19:34 RT... thats why i was going to ask Don K and yourself to send the predictions by PM and not in the thread... and since you think mirwin and nick have a shot we'll let them in on the fun as well...
OK Ralf Fan.
Since you're willing to go through the extra work, I'll send my predictions by PM.
And also last but not least, I noticed you have a statistical shot at winning the competition.
A win from far behind??....mmmmhhh....
Cheers,
RT
Pitstop 10 Oct 2004, 23:09 Again, well done Ralfie - very quick results again.
When RT and Don K, (plus anyone else who is ahead of me), send there predictions in by PM - do you think you could - err- perhaps - err - loose them?
I may have to send you my own predictions by pm, as I am having a small operation on my knee next week-end - and I may not survive it????
Otherwise, I'll be around as per usual!
CleanTone 11 Oct 2004, 01:36 If only Alonso had dropped 3 spots in the final lap:(. I would have had 12 points and my first victory

And what I could say with my case? If I didn't forget to put my predictions for Magny-Cours I might be at the top now! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
(Now I'm fifth, seven points under the leader.)
Jeez, 112th place, I'm cracking.
11 points, not bad at all, but just one poit better than the leaders...
8 points not bad but it will be hard to get in the top ten.
AdamAshmore 14 Oct 2004, 22:12 That is what I am aiming for. I am regretting my missed round. Although it wouldn't been enough to challenge.
Right about thpoint of those members who missed one race:
just a request for ralfie: once the silly season begins, and your job at the prediction comps is over, could you be so kind to issue the standigs without everyone's worst (or missed) performance, somehow like it was in F1 some years ago?
No hurry, feel free to take all the time you need, but I would appreciate it very much.
Speaking from experience, I don't think you should expect that. Of course if Ralf fan wants to do it, he can, but it can't be done automatically, so it will be one heck of a manual job - we're talking double figures in terms of hours work here. Lesson learnt: Don't miss any of the rounds. ;)
ralf fan 15 Oct 2004, 12:33 so climb you dont mind waiting a year or two for the results.... :) as R said it is possible but the manual work that goes into such a thing is tremendous... and eventhough i look it... i am not jobless ;)

Congrats matey, you must have found something in the last few hours, then :nyah:

Perhaps an easier way to do it would be to calculate your own average score per race weekend that you've entered?
e.g. I've only entered the last 3 rounds and have 22 points therefore 22/3 = 7.333 is my average points gained per round.
I'd be interested to see what some of the high scorers average per round (after the Brazil results are in of course).
steve_r 15 Oct 2004, 15:41 But some rounds were #@$£!# to predict.
Prehaps we could all add up the number of rounds entered, less top score, add double lowest score, divided by number of points, multiplied by pi, subtact the number you first though of.
Bet we all get 7.1985
ralfie will surely choose your method steve!

apparently the pi value is not exactly known... goes on and on for two pages and then continues for more... so you give me the exact value and ill adopt your method... ;)
Pitstop 19 Oct 2004, 00:51 I'm very grateful for the fun I have had trying to get into the top twenty of this comp. Still there at the moment, but, without Ralfie, no fun, no comp, no challenge.
It's been fair, if you don't post, you dont score, your problem.
very risky move, dear Pitstop, that of supporting ralfie, believe me ;)
Pitstop 19 Oct 2004, 18:10 I believe you dear climb, just trying to 'butter ralfie up a little' - however, I don't think it will work! I have tried money and flattery, he's immovable, bless him.
I even founded a fan club ;) subscription still open
ralf fan 20 Oct 2004, 18:38 and it has been open for about a year... and still only climb's the only member... ;);)
How much do we get paid to join? ;)
