Euro F3000

I have just been looking at Donington's fixture list on their website and i came across this in the news section: "then there is Euro Formula 3000 action on Sunday 12 August."

I thought that Euro F3000 supported the F1 circus. Does anyone know what this series is?

The Italian F3000 series is now going to be known as Euro F3000 and Formerly known as the Euro F3000 Series is now known as International F3000.
