V8supercar news

Weve got to get V8 supercars back onto this forum. We are being over-run by the poms at the moment. So any bit of news or gossip that youve got, put it on the forum.
The first bit of news is that John Faulkner has lost his Asia on line sponsorship. That should put JFR behind a little with that money missing and it will be definatly a pay drive if he gets the second car going.
So there will be a couple of big name teams looking for new sponsors this year.Anyone got a spare couple of million

The Faulkner/Asia Online split has been on the cards since mid season...

How about a Larkham/Colourscan combination?

The only problem with a Larkham/colourscan combo is the paint job. Larko has always had well presented cars and the colourscan logo and paint job is terrible :(

Yeah, the old Colourscans paintjobs were shockers....but i quite like the new red and yellow. I was at Lakeside when they first put the car on the track (the week before Bathurst 99) and it is as neat as any other car out there..

And the Faulkner/Asia Online split is now confirmed...

I agree that there isn't much in here on our Aussie V8's.
I wish the season would hurry up and start, I'm getting
withdrawal symptoms already. Iy should be a really interesting year with the changes of late. I've been a
Jason Bright fan for the past 4 years, but am also a mad
ford freak. As I can't bring myself to support Brighty
in a Holden I was set to just watch the racing and not
get to involved. But then with Craig Lowndes new last week
I think I've changed my mind, I'll have to support Lowndesy.
Anyway I never ever thought I would way it but "GO LOWNDESY.

It's great we have some V8supercar news (no slow supertourer's), but the JFR sponspership thing will hurt his V8supercars as well as the GTS2 GTP car. Dominos were all set to sponser JFR in 2000, but they pulled out when Asia Online came to the party. JF has always struggled, and Holden are really going to struggle this year (2001) as they have lost 3 top drivers (lowdnes, richards, murphy) and the best manager/team owner (as garry dumbrell has sold his share) in Fred Gibson.

As usual, JFR will pull through, but won't get into the top 4 this, as The Ford Motor Company have the best line-up of drivers in many years (seton, richards, bowe, larkham, lowdnes, The Rat, jnr johnson, longhurst, besnard, ambrose, ellery, mclean).

So, a message to all the Ford Fans Around Australia

GET THE BLUE OVAL FLAGS AND START WAVING THEM, BECAUSE HOLDEN ARE IN FOR ONE MASSIVE ASS KICKING.

Holden has lost Murphy ?

I realise Gibson Motorsport has defected to Ford but where if anywhere has Murph gone ?

Holden hasn't lost murphy, but the rumor's going around are he will be the lead driver in Team Kiwi, maybe replacing jason richards.

Brother,

It is time for all fans of the one true faith to step forward from the shadows and reclaim their rightful God given place on the highest step on the podium.

Repeat after me ..... FoMoCo, FoMoCo

if you say it fast enough you'll get the idea.

The Murph in the team Kiwi car???? I hadn't heard that one yet. Are there any other rumors about where he'll go?

It has come to me in a flash of inspiration...

Reform Moffat Ford Dealers and heave the Murph in a Ford. That old vitamin fed car is the garage gathering dust after all.

Allan Moffat will never start a race (he's too old and just would struggle to even get into the top 20- look at the Jones boys which are a bloody good operation).

And Murph, well if I had to bet money on where he would go there is only one choice.
He would sit out this half of the year, join lowndes at bathurst and Qld 500, and be the second driver for 2002 for Gibson Motorsport.

As we all know, lowdnes is one of murphs best friends and it would be a pretty unbeatable team.

Allan Moffat couldn't drive out of sight...

Yep, that's why he drove to four Bathurst victories.
Fordracingbloodyaustralia do not forget your heritage. And don't take things so seriously.

Murphy joining Gibson motorsport or team kiwi...seems logical enough to me..but could he defect back to his fathers forumla Holden team..just to keep racing ...possible.

as for Moffatt coming back..NO THANKS !!!!..

I would rather have Dick back than that little so and so...no offence of course :)

I'm reading here in AA that the Murphy/Gibson split is hardly all smiles....apparently Murphy thinks he still had a contract with the team for next year, and knocked back several drives, but Gibson denies that they have a contract...

The 'Vitamin Fed' car was sold to Alan Heath, and was then destroyed at Forrest Elbow in 1998. The wreck was sold to Ross Halliday and rebuilt into his Lites Car but he complained so much about the car he bought another prior to the enduros.

So yes the car is gathering dust, but at Hallidays place in Adelaide.

Murphy left Gibsons.

Rejoining FHolden? Not even remotely likely - no exposure. He didn't do that in 97 did he?

As for the enduros? I'd be very surprised if he didn't have a DJR enduro contract on his desk now - Radisich/Murphy, NZ would go nuts!

However, it's likely Holden Motor Sport will find something for Murph to do. They've already lost Lowndes, losing Murphy as well would be intolerable.

I think the big problem for the Murphster is that he has a contract with Holden for 2 years, but their aint a Holden seat for him to place his NZ bottom.

I wonder if he impressed mr Panoz??????? Nah.....

Now what I had in mind was THE GREAT MAN coming back as a team owner. Remember the ANZ Siera's? The late great Greg Hansford - almost made me buy a Kawasaki - and Klaus "don't mention the war" Neids...

Those of little faith do not disparage the Great One. Even if he was born in Canada.

I actually thought the great man was born in South Africa. It was only in his teenage days that he moved to Canada
