This is difficult to do with any sort of certainty, so..

Here's the wish list -
Seton
Radasich
Lowndes
Larkham
Johnson Jr

Here's a more likely scenario -

Skaife (HRT are still the class of the feild)
Radasich (just needs to improve in the short races)
Bright (HRT etc etc plus he can drive)
Seton (the quiet achiever)
Ingall (the noisy achiever)

But I for one would be suprised if in November I got it 50% right. It's just too close isn't it.

As I place my hand into the AVESCO hat of oblivion...

1. Skaife
2. Seton
3. Bright
4. Ingall
5. Tander
6. Besnard
7. Richards
8. Radisich

10. Larkham

If you don't like the order, change it yourself as anything is possible in 2001.

It's interesting that there seem to be a lot of Ford supporters in the forum, this suprises me as usually in my experience we have been a definite minority.

Steve, I mean Allan

Better chance of picking lotto numbers than this, here goes

1. Skaife (HRT still on top)
2. Radisich (almost but not quite)
3. Tander (will mix it up with the big boys)
4. Bright (one year adjustment before taking No. 1 status)
5. Seton (consistant finishes, maybe even a round win)

Others that deserve to do better than they will:

John Bowe (Better than the car will allow)
Lowdnes (will struggle not starting from pole)
Ingle (will at least provide entertainment)

Should be a great year

How about a top 5 Konica series cars?

Wakefield (champion)
Ferrier (a GRMS VT...a donkey could make that go quickly)
Harris (an ex-DJR AU...another donkey vehicle)
Rose (good driver)
White (consistantly plugging away at it..)
Dumbrell
Any other ex-SCS team...

Moffat- Might it be that most Holden fans can't use a computer? ;) :p

Crash Dummy,

I thought the same thing but thought I'd better not upset Marcus again.

Now tell me who's this Wakefield guy?

Crash Test
15 Jan 2001, 11:20
I said MOST ;):)

Wakefield: Queenslander who drives for Graphic Skills racing- would have won the championship last year but luck was nowhere to be found....

The team has rebuilt the red car (ex Kevin Heffernan) that Dean Canto wrote off at Bathurst 98, and apparently they wont be painting it white again...

Crash Baby,

The most endearing image I have of Bathurst is the spandex Chiko Chicks and WW (see I too can learn this abbreviation shyte). I was going to go to $2500 for the signed bonnet - and from a Commodore too! The guys' good, lets find a Ford for him.

Kneeling in front of signed Moffat photo.

Well the guy has raced in Mazdas, Fords, Holdens, a Mitsubishi, and a Toyota....so it shouldn't be too hard to get him back ;)

Crash Dude,

Like far out, he's been really prostituting himself hasn't he? Where as The Great Man drove a Ford, a Ford, umm, a Ford, a guest (spy) drive for Brock in a - well you know! - then a Ford, then a Mazda, then a Mazda, then a Ford, then a propper Ford (ie. a V8), then - well that's it.

I have decreed it to be acceptable for my son to drive a Mazda. Me, if forced to drive rather than ride, it's a Ford. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Like so many have said before, it really is wide open, but here's my two cents worth.
1. Skaife
2. Bright
3. Tander
4. Radisich
5. Bingle

I would dearly love to see WW win the Konica V8 series, but I don't think his talent is enough to make up for a serious shortage of resources. I think Harris would have to be a good chance if he can find some luck. I don't think Ferrier has what it takes.

Crash, one more Ford wise crack and you won't have a very good time at the Club Car day on 10th March. Remember, I always put the left side into the wall. :)

When did WW drive a Mitsubishi?

Moff, I have a picture of Allan Moffat racing a Bob Morris A9X at Amaroo. I saw (and touched) the ex-Jim Clark, ex-Graham Hill, ex-Allan Moffat Lotus Cortina at Historic Lakeside '98. You should go to some historic race meetings, the old touring cars would make you smile. :)

David,

I grew up near Amaroo and can remember the A9 - X stint but not how it came about. I can't remember if I was at the track or watched on TV. As for historics, if the cars are as good as the bike meet at Lakeside each year then yes please. Especially a Mk1 Lotus Cortina.

David- WW drove a Mitsubishi with John Trimbole at the Bathurst 3 hour in 1998, but the car didn't make the start:(

Falc- Indeed, how could we forget the Bimmer...

But, im not sure how you will go with those Konica series tips, Canto will be a non-starter, and McLeod....well who knows what is going on there, John Faulkner isn't sure if they will run a lites car again...also there is the KMart matter...

Can I ask one question that's slightly off topic here but whatever happenned to Amaroo ? I've only seriously followed motorsport for the last 3 years and would be curious to know.

Isn't it under a new housing estate now or something ?

AMoffat

Buckshot

I heard it ended up under the front lawns of a housing development. But have not seen this with my own eyes. Having been a spectator on the hill for a range of events from Mini's and club racing, The Castrol 6 hour bike race (who remembers those?) and the touring cars I am sad to see it go.

Buckshot,
Amaroo was sold for a housing developement mainly because of two thing, The ARDC needed the money and the residents who moved there long after the circuit was built started to complaign about the noise

Moff,
My first ever race meeting that i can remember was at Amaroo(dad took me to warwick farm but I was only 6 months).
Standing on the top of bitupave watching the ford laser series and there was a massive first lap pile-up. i also saw Bap Ramano stick his car in over the hill.John Bowe in the Vescanda lap the feild twice and motorbike 6 hour as well.
Great memories and a great track.

That makes me so mad when people knowingly move next to something noisey like Sydney Airport or a race track or something dangerous like the Lucas Heights nuclear reactor and then start complaining about it when they knew only too well it was there.

People nowadays are either to stupid or to lazy to take responsibility for their own actions.
